I am one week post op and would love to talk to others with same or close surgery date. I have been looking at other state message boards and it is kinda funny how Doctors are different in their post op diets. I am in what my dietitian calls Stage 3, High Protein Full Liquids. I will advance Christmas Day to Stage 4 - pureed foods. I am feeling much better than I anticipated one week out. Any thoughts on food choices and variety are welcome. Jeanie

Hi, I am not 12/15 but am 12/18. I have been on more or less liquids since my surgery. The only foods that I am taking in (and very slowly I might add) is 1 ounce of egg white, and 1 ounce of low fat cottage cheese. But, the weight is coming off - started at 255 and now am at 231. I could scream I am so excited. But, am still in my old clothes. Judi

Hi Jeanie, I had RNY-LAP on December 16, 2003 and I'm down 30 lbs. I couldn't believe it. (Smiling) I was on all liquids for the first 14 days, just this past week I have been allowed to have one egg a day for one of my meals. I feel great. And looking forward to soft foods to start on Monday. i.e. cottage cheese, applesauce, re-fried beans, etc. I'm getting all my water in and all my protein and vitamins. So I'm right on track. this has been so exciting. I have been watching the message boards for receipes and keep printing them off. I have made a file for the future foods and meals I will eventually be able to eat. The best of luck to you and keep us posted to your progress. JS

Hi Jeanie, I am an open RNY on Dec 10th. I was reading some of the posted comments and I have also lost about 30 lbs but I am also still in my same clothes. The only problem I am having is with nausea and vomiting. I am on the full liquid diet, time wise I should be on pureeds but my stomach will not tolerate that yet. Good luck and feel free to email me at [email protected]. Kathy

Hi Jeanie, I had lap RNY on 12-16 and developed complications so they had to open me on the 18th, it has been rough, but i am getting through. I have lost 32lbs so far, and I am very proud of that, but like everyone else still in my old clothes although they are getting a little looser. My big problem right now is the protein, I am not getting enough, if anyone has any suggestions i would appreciate it. MASHED POTATOS are very good and easy on the stomach Good luck

Hi Jeanie, I noticed your post, and wanted to share with you. I drink Isopure which has 40 grams of protein per bottle. I drink two bottles a day. It's a clear liquid and comes in different flavors. I purchased it at Gold's gym. It is also carried by GNC, hope this helps . Good luck SnoJo
