Baby Steps
Greetings Everyone,
My surgeon is delighted at how my gastric bypass went. The surgery had to be open because he had hoped to also repair very large hernias I had from previous unrelated surgeries. Check that, my being overweight had a major role in why I need those other surgeries. In fact, the reason I decided to take this step is in the hopes of avoiding future sugeries. He could only repair one hernia and will have to repair the other after I lose "about 100 lbs." I marvel at the thought.
I am at home still having just full liquids, but doing well with just about everything. My energy level is still very low and I get tired very easily. I have a sharp pain more often than not in the surgical area. However, I am told this is normal. I look forward to hearing your progress and sharing mine with you.
Congratulations and good luck to all!
Congrats on your surgery. I had my Open RNY on December 15, 2003. I'm still experiencing the low energy level and tiredness too. I guess it just takes time. I don't know about you, but I'm so tired of having to lay in bed or sit and do nothing. I'm ready to get out and get going. I can't start full liquids until Tuesday morning. My doc has me on clear liquids for now. Good luck on your progress and I hope we can keep in touch. God bless you!
