I have a date!!
CONGRATS Teresa on getting your date! This is such an exciting time & I'm right here in the same boat with ya. My mom doesn't really want me to have the surgery (even tho she knows it'll help me). She feels as if there are too many risks. She is starting to settle in with the idea as time gets closer since she knows how important it is to have support of family & friends behind you. I wish you the best & I hope that your parents will back you up (I think they will as time gets closer--make sure they know that "YOU NEED" their support for your recovery). Take care!
I know what your going through. I only told one of my Sister's and my Mom. My Husband knows and a few friends as well. I'm catching a lot of negative garbage. Including some from my manager at work who thinks this is cosmetic surgery.
I have six brothers and sisters but I'm not telling them because it will either be a big joke or some will try to interject their opinion and just before I do this I really don't want negativity or arguing.
My Mom wants to know why I can't just try another diet? This is a personal choice. Not open for bargaining or discussion. I made the decision based on my knowledge of the procedure and the risks involved as well; I take a risk each time I sit down in my car to go to work. This procedure may very well add many more years to our lives.

I CHOOSE TO GET BUSY LIVING!
