Topic: Doing Great
Hi there...I had my surgery December 17, 2002. It was 6 months yesterday, and I have lost 104 lbs. already. Went from 257 to 153 in only 6 months. I could have never done that on my own. Feeling good...looking great!!! The only problem that I have had is not being able to eat enough protein and not liking the protein drinks! Doing better with that though...able to eat a little more! Keep up the good work December 2002 people....we can do it...all the way!!!

I am 6 mos post-op also. I had RNY done 12-19-02. I spent 6 days in hospital and had to be readmitted on 1-2-03 for 3 days because of dehydration. I am doing fine now I am now 263 down from 356. With the help of physical therapy and yoga I am gaining mobility. I feel great. I don't take nearly as much medicine as before the surgery. And you re right, it is a new life. Joan

Hi, I had my surgery on 13 Dec 2002. I am down to 207.3 from 317.5.....There have been 2 trips to the ER due to dehydration in Jan & Feb. but besides not being able to handle anything with a "texture" I am now eating and drinking. There are days I am not sure I did the right thing with the surgery, but for the most part I am starting to see a big differents in the things I am able to do. I have also stoped some of my medicen and the doctors say I am doing fine. I hope one day I will be able to say like you, I am happy I did the surgery. Diana in Indiana

I was looking in the mirror this morning and finally I see what my friends and family see's..... Is it really me that I see stareing back at me in the mirror I thought? I could see this beautiful, sexy and health indivisual who has features of this young lady I once knew... WOW it is me... I have lost a total of 100 lbs in six months Thank GOD for surgery. I am trully happy, I've had no complications, I'm eating well, watching my carbs and sugars... And drinking protein... I am so excited. I can now see living past 50 years without health problems. I really admire my doctor's (Dr.John Hopkins my pcp and Dr.Allen Newhoff My Surgeon) who has been very supportive through out the entirety of my process...

Topic: RE: 12/23/2002 LAP RNY
Hi There! I had lap RNY on Dec. 2, 2002. I am down 82 lbs! What a Godsend this surgery was for me. On May 9th, however, I had to have emergency surgery to remove an adhesion that had wrapped around my intestine, BUT, I would do this surgery again in a HEARTBEAT! I am wearing size 14! My BMI is in the "overweight' and not the "obese" category. You all are my support and inspiration! Thank you!

Wow you guys did awesome job in almost 6 mos out!!!! I had Open RNY on 12-24-02 and I lost 110#. I have before and after pic in profile. I feel so great and most of all no more huffing and puffing going up the stairs! On Monday, my brother and his wife will be here from TX (to Ohio). He has not seen me since he picked me up from the hospital. So this will be a shocker to him and to see if he can recognize me LOL!
