Wow and I thought mine was bad...Mine started at 3 months and now it's 7 months and it's still shedding like mad. Luckily I had really thick hair to start with, so it's not really bad, but it feels like I've lost at least half the thickness I used to have. I'm just wondering when it will stop, I had heard 6 months but it hasn't slowed a bit yet!

Topic: Hair Loss
Has anyone had or have hair loss? Mine started about 1 week out of surgery. It has not stopped even a little. My 3 year old has more hair than I do. I told my surgeon I am going to be his first bald patient. I have about 1/4 of the hair left on my head. You can tell how thin it is even in a ponytail. I wore my hair down the other day and never again. Ponytails from now on!!! I do have a little regrowth but not enough to even go and chop the rest off. Anyone have any suggestions or anyone going thru this also? Thanks from "Going Bald in PA"...lmao

Topic: 6 1/2 months out and feeling great!
Hi everyone from the December 2002 club! I had my surgery in Charlotte on December 18th, 2002. 6 and a half months out I am down 72 pounds. I have gone down in sizes from 24 to 14 off the rack in most items and that feels great! My only regret is that I didn't get this done 5 years ago---I missed out on so much due to my weight! But I'm trying to make up for lost time now. Have been to the beach twice and it feels so good not to be the largest person by the pool or on the beach. I'm no means a bathing beauty, but at least I feel somewhat 'normal' and that is a blessing! Take care and let me know how you're all doing!

Hi, Don't know if you remember me or not. I'm I guess what you can call your twin sister. I'm older by about 4 hours I believe. My surgery was with Dr Bauman at 7 o'clock and I believe yours was at around 11. I'm doing great. I've lost 99 pounds down to 195. I can't believe I have a 1 at the beginning of my weight. Glad to hear you are doing well. Hope to hear from you soon, Susie Chaney

In 1 week I'll be 7 months out. Everything has went great. I have lost 99 pounds so far. (I'm right at the century club) My starting weight was 294 and I now weigh 195. I HAVE A "1" AT THE BEGINNING OF MY WEIGHT! YEAH!!!!!!!! I feel quite certain that I will need the tummy tuck and I'm thinking of having my bat wings and boobs done too. My boobs are exercising. They are trying to do toe touches. They look like deflated balloons. I like this new site. You can track those who are where you are.

Topic: hi everyone!!!!
Well DUH! I got so into REAL life I have not been on here in a cpl months and did not know this board was here! I had my surgery on 12/13/02. My starting weight was 331 (unofficial) and 321 ( I didnt get weighed the day of surgery). I am down to 204. I have a question. Sometimes I feel like I can eat WAY lots more than I should! I work out between 1 1/2 - 2 hours per day and am wondering if this is the cause of my better appetite.....has anyone else had this problem? I also went back home to FL to visit for my HS 20th reunion and saw my family for the first time. First time in my life my dad was EVER speechless... hehehe Anyone on here in VA? Hope to make some friends and I need to get my butt on here more that every three months! Diane

Topic: RE: Anyone having problems with low iron and B-12?
Lori, I've been taking Trinsicon [Flotrin] since the surgery and my blood tests have been great. One in the AM and one in the PM, and that's it to keep the B12 and iron in good territory [also the folic acid]. That, a low dose BP med an 81mg Asprin and a Cholesterol med are all I take now. If you look closely, that resembles that new Combo Pill they've mentioned on TV lately. http://my.webmd.com/content/article/67/80084.htm. Good luck, Tom

Hey friends! Just wondering where you are standing with your blood levels. I've been on two 65 mg feosol iron pills a day for 3 months already and my levels are still really low. We're now trying four pills a day! My B-12 is also low so we're upping that a bit too. Any ideas on what has worked for any of you is much appreciated!! Lori in Milwaukee, WI

I had my wls 12/6/02 by Dr Pasupathy in Bridgeton, NJ. Pre-op wt 399 and I have loss 110 lbs. I walk 2 miles every morning rain or shine. I try to stay focused on what Im suppose to do. and changes things that I see that's wrong. I can do things I haven't done in years. I wish I had done this years ago, so I could of enjoyed my kids more as they were growing up. Im really sad about that part of my life, missing out , but that's the past. I can enjoy them now for sure, just like some husbands, don't like change I've heard my kids talk about their concerns also. I guess they think Im going to book up and leave them or something. I laugh about it but they are for real. I guess they think some man will find interest in me and take me away. LOL yeah right!, anyhow I must say I love my wl journey, and I do try to make this a fun thing everyday. I try not to cry the blues about every ache and pain that comes along. I had aches and pains before my wls and I didn't cry about it as much. maybe it was because I had nothing to blame it on. hmmmmmm. Oh well my AMOS friends take care and continue to do well on your journey, you are all big losers.~*~Hugs~*~
