Topic: Wow..its almost been a year already.
Hi Everyone, It will be a year for me on Dec. 17th. I have lost 145. lbs. and for the most part feel wonderful. I too have experienced low energy, but my iron levels are not right. I have been fighting low iron levels for several months now. I am having surgery in Dec. for a hysterectomy and that will hopefully help boost my energy up again. Is anyone experiencing alot of excess flabby skin? Does alot of exercise make that go away or is that another surgery that must take place? I have gone from a size 4X to now a size 14. I feel really good and am ready to get my energy back and feel really really good. Jill

I had my surgery 12/23/02 and I have lost 135 pounds to date (40 til goal) and I am tired all the time these days. My blood/vitamin levels are normal as well. But I still have a very hard time making it through the day. I'd like to know what we can do to increase our energy levels.

Sounds like you are doing fantastic. I had my surgery 12/23/02 in Yspilanti --great place. I was a size 32 - 34 and I'm down to a size 20 - 22 in pants,, 16 -18 in tops., I'm 5'10" and still have a long way to go .....but it feels great to have all that weight off the hips and legs and everywhere. Best of luck to you. Anyone out there who had surgery at Yspilanti the same week? Deb

I had my surgery 12/11/02 and I am down 100lbs with 30 more to go. Is anyone else still experiencing a lack of energy due to lack of calories? I wouldn't trade the weight loss for anything, I am just wondering if I am the only one who is still tired....and all my blood/vitamin levels are normal.

Topic: 70 pounds down
I have lost a total of 70 pounds since my surgery, and while not totally pleased I have a 7 day old baby boy that I would not trade for all the weight loss or a million dollars. He is so beautiful and perfect, he isn't a fussy baby and sleeps through the night. I am hoping my weight loss will pick up soon, but I don't know how much more I will lose, nor do my physicians because this is somewhat unfamiliar ground for them both. I conceived 5 weeks post op. But am a very happy young lady now.

I too have plateaued at 168 lbs and have hit the work out hard. Also going back to Low fat and not trying any of the other stuff. I reall want to hit my doctors goal not to mention mine wich is a tad lower. I hope I can but never the less am very pleased with my weight loss and would do it all over again in a heart beat. Good for you on hitting the gym again. It is hard sometimes.. I kinda go in sperts. I work out for a month then take a couple of weeks off. But I do believe that I have new habits that are much healtier. Good luck to all. And congrats on our up and coming YEAR date.

How do you plan on celebrating? I haven't decided yet. I've plateaued at 208-210 but I have a feeling a lot of that is my fault (stopped exercising, not making good eating choices, etc.). However, I started hitting the gym again and am starting to reconsider my diet. Wish me luck!

Hi Everyone, How are you all doing? Did any of you have surgery in Belvidere, IL in December 2002? I moved to Michigan now, so I will be having my year post-op check in Yspilanti this year! Hooray! I feel AWESOME...if there is any way I can cheer anyone on, let me know. By the way, size 16 feels GREAT!

Topic: Has anyone had problems with scar tissue or adhesions?
Hi all I had lap RNY on 12/3/03. I am doing wonderfully with my loss. I am down to 173 for a total loss of 133. Starting on August 8th I began have severe stomeach pains and omiting. I was admittied to my local hospital. They did a multitude of tests and could find no rhyme or reason what was casuing this. After 2 weeks I was transferred to the hospital I had my surgery at. My surgeon did lap surgery to explore what was going on. He found lots of adhesions and scar tissue. He removed it all. Since then the problems have g one away and I feel 100% better. I am still a bit sore but hae the ok to return to work Monday. After 7 weks out I am more than ready to go back. I can't go back to the gym for another month as Dr. is concerend about getting hernias. SO for now I will try and do some walking and hope that helps. If anyone has some insight please drop me a line Kelly
