Reconstructive Surgery
OK, I have to admit that I am being very wary about surgery. I breezed through bypass surgery. I've often said that childbirth was worse for me -- and my longest labor was 5 hours. I really need to have my "batwings" taken care of. A tummy tuck would do nicely. If I really wanted the perfect body my thighs could use some help as well as my breasts -- they both need some lifting. On top of the fear of going under the knife again is the money. I couldn't do any of it without insurance help. Anyone had BlueChoice HMO pay for reconstructive surgery?
I'm still so pleased with my weight loss, if nothing else was ever done. I've lost 163 pounds -- 357lbs. at the beginning, now 194. I'm 24 pounds away from my goal, and I bet most of that can be taken care of with skin removal.
Hi Leanne, congratulations on your great wt loss, You have done great. I also have been thinking about PS. I'm not worried but I really don't want to go under the knife again, but I see I won't be happy with all this skin hanging. I need the insurance to help also. I don't have money like that. wish I did LOL My 1st consult is Thur 4/29 and I sure hope things move fast. I would like it to happen before my daughters graduation in June. anyhow I was 400 lbs pre-op and now is 200 even, but not for long LOL I have been exercising big times so It's a matter of seconds, moments, hrs, etc LOL Leanne, I had my surgery 12/6/02 with no complications, I have made this a fun adventure, and still enjoy every step of it. My surgeon set my goal wt at 160 lbs but I will of course try to go down more. But I'm satisfied with how things are going. You look wonderful in your pic. How has things changed for you so far?
hi leanne
i had my bypass surgery on 12/16/02 i was 290 i have a children all
by c-section before i had the bypass surgery i alway said if i can
get rid of this stomach i'll be alright so i had the bypass surgery
and i had my tummy tuck on 3/15/04 i'm now 165 insurance did
pay for the tummy tuck but did not pay for the tightening of the
stomach muscle that was only 1300.00 not bad but you need
to go to your insurance home page and find out if bluechoice hmo pays
of tummy tucks but i've had documentation on the problems the Policy if Aetna to consider an abdominoplasty are the following criteria:
Panniculus hangs to or below the level of the pubis; and
The medical records document that the panniculus causes chronic intertrigo (dermatitis occurring on opposed surfaces of the skin, skin irritation, infection or chafing) that consistently recurs or remains refractory to appropriate medical therapy over a period of 3 months.
Have had a few years of rashes and very dry skin under my stomach
so now i'm flat as a pancake now all i need to my breast done and i'll
be ok i'm still trying to get the insurance to pay for that.
