Am I doing okay?
Hello everybody. I am 8mos and 9days post-op and I have lost 95lbs. Is that average, or below average? I still have 70 more to loose so I can't stop now! Let me know how you all are doing! This has truly saved my life as well as my marriage! Not to say my husband is a bad person, but I was so miserable with myself, I was making everybody else miserable. And I didn't even realize it until just recently. I was a awful person! But I am much better now, and our marriage is back on the right track. And energy, I'm going all the time.
Enjoying doing things that I haven't been able to, or felt like doing in a long time. Please let me know how the rest of you have done, since WLS.
Hi Kim, I'm Pat, I had surgery 12/27/02 and have lost about 105 lbs depending on when I get on the scale! lol. I think you are right on target and try not to get stressed about it (listen to me I worry all the time and compare myself to others) I think it has alot to do with how much you need to lose and your heighth. I'd like to lose 200lbs if that tells you anything but I would be happy with 175 at this point of my 4th plateau!
Kim;
You are doing wonderful... I had surgery on 12/3/02 and have lost 97 pounds.. from a size 26 to a 14 and feeling great... I also feel that the surgery saved my life... My husband was not sure that he really wanted me to have it but now he is very pleased... infact when he comes home at night he hugs me and calls me beautiful... boy does that feel great.... Anyway, I have 32 pounds to go to goal and actually at this point, if I didn't loose anymore I would be fine with it.... I feel so good...
So anyway... keep up the good work, This is just the beginning of your new life...
Julie
Hi Kim -
You are doing GREAT!!! Have you hit plateaus? It is just a miracle how incredibly well this surgery works in helping us in so many ways. Kim, I don't believe your were an awful person!! But, when you are not happy with yourself, it does show. I am so happy for you that your life has taken such a turn for the better.
In all honesty, I feel as though I have hit as far as I am going to go. I had my surgery on 12/16/02 and I am pretty well stuck at 80 lbs lost. I started out at 273 and I't now between 190 and 195 depending on the scale that day. I would sure like to end up at 160 - preferably 140 to 150 - but I would be happy if I just got the pounds moving again. I have only taken off about 5 pounds in the last 2 months and I am very concerned that I am all done. I would like to add - I exercise vigerously a minimum of 45 minutes 5 to 6 days a week Anyone have any insight as to how to get this going again?
Kim - keep up the good work - you are doing wonderfully!!
With best regards - Jayne Frommes
