Hair Loss
Has anyone had or have hair loss? Mine started about 1 week out of surgery. It has not stopped even a little. My 3 year old has more hair than I do. I told my surgeon I am going to be his first bald patient. I have about 1/4 of the hair left on my head. You can tell how thin it is even in a ponytail. I wore my hair down the other day and never again. Ponytails from now on!!! I do have a little regrowth but not enough to even go and chop the rest off. Anyone have any suggestions or anyone going thru this also? Thanks from "Going Bald in PA"...lmao

Wow and I thought mine was bad...Mine started at 3 months and now it's 7 months and it's still shedding like mad. Luckily I had really thick hair to start with, so it's not really bad, but it feels like I've lost at least half the thickness I used to have. I'm just wondering when it will stop, I had heard 6 months but it hasn't slowed a bit yet!
I started losing my hair but not untill 6 months out. I have been taking Flax seed oil pills twice a day and my hair is growing back in and I don't lose much now. Also remember the moe protein the more everything gets better even hair growth.
Just my little imput.

Count me in on the hair loss train. I have been losing handfuls and handfuls of hair daily. I started to take bioten alone with my vitemens, however I haven't noticed a change. I have been on them for 2 1/2 months now. I am hopeful that the hair will start growing. I am a hairdress by trade and this really sucks, that I can't get it to stop. Better to be bald then to be MO!
My hair started falling out about my sixth month in April. It lasted only about 6 weeks. My nurse recomended bioten and vitiman E. I took them both and it seemed to do the trick. I don't lose it anymore (knock on wood..lol) I am now having new hair growing. The protein is a must. Be sure get it in any way you can. It all helps. Good luck. I know how you feel. Its scary. We never want to be bald.

Hi Everyone, Post-op 7 mo, -#100.
Yes I had hair loss. Around 4 months out I began lossing hair by the handfuls. I was eating protein, drinking water, taking my vitamins and still it was falling out. Someone mentioned pre-natal chewable vitamins (Rx) and I borrowed some from my sister, in 2 weeks time my hair loss slowed down, and now has stopped, and my stylist said she can see new hair growth! Not to mention my blood work was "perfect." The prenatal chews are available from your Dr by script only, however make sure you tell the pharmacy you want chewables!! They are tasty and no side effects!
I also stopped shampooing daily and never used a brush, just a wide tooth comb- Good luck to everyone, it (hair) will return! Margaret
