Hi I am trying for about the 10th time to update myself to all of you. I am 6mo post op and doing fine. I have lost 63lb's and very happy I had the surgery. The weight loss is just a part of the success. I am off a lot of my medication and I am now a pretty healthy person. I turned 62 in Feb and retired. I have started a new life. It is wonderful. Hi, I had my surgery on 13 Dec 2002. I am down to 207.3 from 317.5.....There have been 2 trips to the ER due to dehydration in Jan & Feb. but besides not being able to handle anything with a "texture" I am now eating and drinking. There are days I am not sure I did the right thing with the surgery, but for the most part I am starting to see a big differents in the things I am able to do. I have also stoped some of my medicen and the doctors say I am doing fine. I hope one day I will be able to say like you, I am happy I did the surgery. Diana in Indiana

I am 6 mos post-op also. I had RNY done 12-19-02. I spent 6 days in hospital and had to be readmitted on 1-2-03 for 3 days because of dehydration. I am doing fine now I am now 263 down from 356. With the help of physical therapy and yoga I am gaining mobility. I feel great. I don't take nearly as much medicine as before the surgery. And you re right, it is a new life. Joan
