I am on my final week of waiting. It sounds like you are off to a good start. I worked putting to use tools to improve my success such as fitness pal to food diary, increasing my water, and eating like I will have to post op ( such as protein first, and hard for me slow). I also purchased a new food scale, and a journal. I have been "nesting": as well. I organized my clothes that are too small and stored them in containers labeled and placed smallest (10)  to largest (18) with the smaller sizes in the back. I look forward to pulling out a box of old but new again clothes and discarding the now too big ones until I get to that furthest back container.  I left out the 20's and larger .

I cleaned out the pantry as well of troublesome foods.

Other  habits than can be worked on is exercise (at least walking).  Attending a support group is a good idea too. I have 2 friends on OH that I chat with too.

I didn't buy any protein or drinks yet as I go to my preop  visit tomorrow and I am waiting for final instructions. I will probably make a stop on the way home for some clear liquids. My surgeons office provides a bariatric kit (well you have to buy it).

Good luck, it will go fast (yes, I keep reminding myself)

Topic: Surgery Nov 5- Planning post op

I can't believe it is less than one week away. I continue to nest her at home. My pre op appt is tomorrow. My best friend flies in the day after my surgery and will be here for a week. I am so blessed. She had a gastrectomy but due to cancer a few years ago. I took care of her, never did I think the roles would be turned. I am trying to make the guest room just perfect for her. Any suggestions for movies or TV series to watch together?

Hahaha. I don't blame you because that's what I'm going to do when I go on my lunch break. Best of luck to you

Topic: Hello.

It's quiet here and I'm going stir crazy waiting for the next month to pass, so I thought I'd start a thread. What are you all doing to get ready for your surgery?

The new few weeks can't happen fast enough. I have an appointment on Friday to get my PCP medical clearance, EKG, and CBC labs. Next week, I have my third/final dietician appt and official insurance submit/approval. The following week, my pre-op appointment. Surgery is 11/29, with a 3-day clear diet beforehand... I guess I'll be 'cleansing' on T-day, and I'm not so excited about that part.

I'm really being good about my vitamins, water, moving, and eating right now, especially before that clearance and CBC lab appt. I'm trying not to buy everything in sight. I have my ready-to-drink protein, protein mix sample packs, a couple of big tubs (I know I should have waited on that part, in case I hate them), and chewable multi-vitamins, so far. I need to get the calcium citrate, B12, D3, and iron yet.
