I'm SO excited to finally be at this point of my journey to weight loss. I've lost 40 lbs pre op. Lots of hard work and changing of habits. Hopefully this will help me through the rest of my life. I'm a little nervous about learning to eat slow and chew and to not gulp. I've heard that it won't take long, because it is painful otherwise.... Any suggestions or comments? I'm the only Fat person in my household. But not for long!
I am now finished with two weeks of Optifast with 6 more days to go and surgery in a week from today (Next Thursday Nov. 15th)
I am nervous and excited! Surgery will be here in town at the civic with Dr Riache from OWMC.

I run The O.W.L.S. (Ottawa Weight Loss Surgery) Closet. We are a local clothing exchange and social group stemmed off of a couple of the local support boards on Facebook and also OH members for those having had or going to have WLS. We meet monthly for a large clothing exchange and potluck in the East end of Ottawa.

My surgery date is November 7. I'm excited but scared. I just started the Optifast liquid diet last week and I have lost 4lbs. Seems like things are moving pretty fast. My surgery was put off several times for tests and more tests, and then because my surgeon was going on vacation, but I finally got here. At this junction I think I can safely say "It's gonna happen." Wishing you success with your surgery.
