Hi Patti Jo!
I've been trying to get on the board every day too. This pre-op diet is killing me! I'm not sure why it says Pacific Time Zone, I'm in Wisconsin! Home is Wisconsin, but I'll be having surgery in Cleveland (where my parents live, so I can stay with them for a few weeks). I'm getting it done at the Cleveland Clinic. I'd love to keep in touch!
You're only 3 days a way! I bet you're so excited to just get it done with! That's where I'm at now. I can't wait!!! Everyone tells me I'm crazy for doing it right before Thanksgiving, but I don't think it'll be too bad. How do you plan on dealing with that? Good luck Friday! I'll be thinking of you!
Caitlin
Thank you so much Patty! Your words are very true and very kind. I wish you all the best on the 16th as well dear!
I also have started keeping track by doing short youtube videos throughout this journey....something to look back on and who knows may help someone else in the future.
Cheers from Canada!
Evie
I run The O.W.L.S. (Ottawa Weight Loss Surgery) Closet. We are a local clothing exchange and social group stemmed off of a couple of the local support boards on Facebook and also OH members for those having had or going to have WLS. We meet monthly for a large clothing exchange and potluck in the East end of Ottawa.
Feel free to contact me for details or add me on facebook: "Evie Katt"
Hi Caitlin: I'm close ....November 16th. I hope I'm able to come home soon after. I try to get on this board just about every day.
I see the header says you're writing from the Pacific Time Zone. Is that home or vacation? . Where are you having your surgery done?
I'm going to be at Beaumont in Royal Oak, Michigan I would love to keep in touch with someone who will understand about where I'm at on the plan. There are so many different plans for RNY and I think it would be great to talk with someone,
Good luck on the 19th and I'll be thinking about you.

Great news on the upcoming 15th surgery. Mine is the 16th... these last few days have given me time to get all of my AFTER surgery food, meds and other things in order here at home. I wrote instructions for my hubby (who is taking over our pet care while I'm laid up.) I must say I'm nervous and excited too. I keep a journal about all the happening and process' I'm going through, which I hopefully will help others in the future. I do swear that this website has been my salvation. Whenever I get nervious or want to cancel out, I go to the before/after pictures and within a few minutes I remember WHY I started all this.
Well Evie, we can take comfort we are not alone. May have gone before us and are happy to show us the way. I wish you the best Thursday and do keep on the board here. We will all want to know how you are doing.
Hugs from a Michiganian

Hi fellow Michiganians....I'm anxiously awaiting my surgery. Be at Beaumont in Royal Oak...and now I'm just wanting to get it over with. Been on a Beaumont PRE-diet for about a month.... they only require 14 days but I HAD to know for myself if I could do this diet and prepare for changes in the family eating style. I'm fairly comfortable with the plan now and I sure I'll have an occasional
goof up but for the most part I found out after 3 weeks I kept FORGETTING to eat. WOW !!!! Go figure. My biggest problem still is the WATER. I hate water in any form, but thankfully I am able to pour Crystal Light powder in a water bottle and I get it down.
I think I'm ready for Friday. I have all my Liquids and pureed food, vitamins, meds I think I'll still be taking assembled away from the kitchen. (STILL MY DOWNFALL: Refrigerator, eating randomly, cooking for family and sampling everything. ugh) My husband is on his own for meals and lunch bags until I am comfortable with this . I hope by Mid-January I'll be looking a food in a whole new light.
Please keep posting before, during the weeks of and after surgery. Found a Support Group at Henry Ford Hospital and visited, they are so nice. I chose to have my surgery at another hospital however. Felt bad going back there since I then know I was going elsewhere for surgery. My surgical hospital is 45 minutes from my house and Henry Ford is just 10 minutes . Well we all know this week that Beaumont and Henry Ford are merging...isn't that just lucky for me. Yes I can go to support groups there after all. Whew! I'm going to need lot's of support hahahahaha ! Well I hope to hear from you anytime and take care of YOURSELF.

Hi all,
I was wondering if any of you have anxiety about your upcoming surgery? I think my anxiety is more about being "put to sleep" so to speak and less about the procedure.
The other issues I have is thinking about......what if I wake up and the surgeon found something dramatic and couldn't go through with the planed surgery?
Sounds ridiculous right? But who can I ask if not here on this site.
Thanks for your feedback and thoughts on this subject.
Sincerely,
Rita
