I was thinking the other day, I don't need to have this surgery - I'm fine as I am... Just to have a way out in my mind... But then I see all the success stories on this board and I CAN'T WAIT!!

I have been working on having surgery since 2005 off and on, one thing after another it was insurance no covered it. Now it covers but I didnt have the money to pay the deductibes...Yeah its finally here.. Nov 11th I will begin my new life.. Thank you God...

I'm Nov 2 too! Starting tomorrow morning on 5-day pre-op liquid only diet! I'm from Canada, and am going to Hermosillo, Mexico for DS with Dr. Ungson. They've been just great so far....the anesthesiologist, Dr. Soto, just e-mailed me to followup on a few questions I had. Seems like a great team down there. I'll be spending the rest of the winter in Florida, so maybe I'll try to meet up with the poster above from Gainsville sometime after Christmas, and we can swap DS stories. Good luck all my fellow Nov 2nd ers! See you on the other side!
(Still working on trying to upload a photo that's small enough to upload.....my daughter laughed when I said that my photo wouldn't upload because it was too big! How ironic, she says......Great sense of humor that girl! We had a great laugh!)

I have officially started my pre op diet today, mmmm not good so far! I am having 2 meals replaced with a protein drink/shake, and then a light meal at night. I chose a strawberry flavor shake and it is soooo foul that I can't drink it. I can choose a protein bar or other shake flavors so I'm going to get those ASAP!!!
Glad your pre op diet is going well, is yours similar to mine? When is your surgery date?

Two days before thanksgiving, and I am soooo thankful! I am very excited and happy I will have so many friends on OH to share this journey with!
