I had my surgery on 11/6/09.. weighed 321 today I am at 255.  I have a large port with 11cc.  Just had my adj last week.  I was hoping to be down much more than this, but I am thankful I have done this thus far.  I notice though that I can't seem to drink water.  It will not stay down.  I can drink Crystal Lite, tea, or anything like that just no****er.  Did you have this problems like this?  Is this normal?

It's been so long since I have posted anything! Had gastric bypass (revised from Lap Band) Nov 13th. Have lost 60 lbs. Started at 202. and now at 141. I love it but only loss 1/2 to 1 lb a week right now! It's my own fault. Just not being as careful. It's mentally harder now but I am still chipping away! I need to take my bosy to the next step!

Hi there!

I feel your pain! I have been taking Biotin, and Zinc for my hair. It doesnt stop the hair from failing out but it helps the new hair coming in.

I have been taking it for about 4 weeks now, and have notice the diffrence with the hair shedding.

I was also told that the hair shedding has to take its course. Some folks get short styles, but i just keep my hair wash and conditioned.

Good luck to you!

When I first spoke to my family doctor about the option of surgery, I tipped the scales at 325Lbs at 33 years old and standing at 5'8"...When I got my first consultation with the surgeons office, I had managed to get down to 288 Lbs...on day of surgery I weighed in at 274Lbs. I had my surgery on November 10 / 2009..I have managed to get down as low as 188Lbs but have since gained some weight back (putting me at 202Lbs again)....Dietician claims I may be building muscle since I gained that wieght  byt yet me pant sizes continue to drop...My surgeons goal weight for me was to get down to 200 Lbs and maintane it! The dietician said she'd be impressed if I got down to between 180 and 185 Lbs and maintained that. My personal goal is between 160 and 165Lbs....However...my dietician thinks 160 to 165 Lbs is too much

My surgery was 11-2-09, my starting weight was 350lbs but I lost 49lbs pre-surgery making my starting weight 301lbs. At my six month post-op visit I had lost 110lbs and have currently lost 3 additional lbs putting my total weight loss 162lbs. Currently I weigh 188lbs, my goal weight is 170lbs which will put my BMI in the normal range. But my dietician was like I will definitely lose more and fall below 170lbs since most people continue to lose up until 18months out.
Starting Body Composition: BMI 50.2; Fat% 57; Fat Mass/Excess 197.5lbs; Muscle Mass 149lbs....Current Body Composition: BMI 27.1; Fat% 35.2; Fat Mass/Excess 67.5lbs; Muscle Mass 124lbs
I am addicted to smart pop mini bag kettle corn. I recently completed a half marathon (13.1miles) in 4hrs 8mins 38secs and am training for another one in October. I can run a 9min mile and dedicate at least 3hrs day to exercise and weight training.

No complications.....never even dumped once or ever had vomitting and nausea. Blood work is good, except for potassium which I'm taking supplements for and following up with kidney specialist to see why its low...never had a problem b4 surgery.

protein is key but i have also heard that biotin and iron help. but i would check with my dr before taking anything.  and remember your going to notice more hair loss than anyone else will. i have had some hair loss but nothing major.  i still do two protein shakes a day, with that alone i get 60grams in. i would say try to find a protein suppliment its very important.  some websites sell sample sizes so u dont have to be stuck with a big tub if you dont like it.  good luck!

I got RNY surgery November 30th 2009, I have been doing well i believe on the weight loss I am down over 100 lbs! I am still having a hard time making myself take the vitamins! But that is a work in progress. Along with that getting in the necessary liquids a day is taxing! but I drink and drink and try to increase day by day.

My problem is protein, I try to get enough protein in from food alone because I have yet to find a protein shake or any protein supplement that I can stomach. they are too sweet or too thick.

My problem is my hair is falling out really bad, every day handfuls of my hair are falling out and I used to have REALLY thick hair and it is freaking me out! I know its because I need more protein but is their a vitamin that will help aid in hair growth?

I have yet to find a bald spot but I keep freaking out about it and my family says it isn't as bad as I think it is but again like I said I am freaking out!

If anyone has went through this, or going through this please help me out! Thanks

Hey!!! Well I've lost 87lbs so far and about 3 weeks from my 6 month. I was hoping to lose 100lbs by my sixth month, but that's okay I'll try to get as close as possible in these 3 weeks....I'm in "ONDERLAND"!!! I don't really have a favorite, but for a moment I was on the Egg Salad kick, then switch too Garden Omelets (lunch and dinner), but now I'm trying to kick some bad carb habits. My WOW moment was when I went into Lane Bryant and they had absolutely nothing in my current size. I had no idea they didn't sell anything in size 12. Same when I went into Macy's. I'm use to shopping in the "Womens" section, but again they had nothing in my size, so now I shop misses. I can't wait till I shop Jr Misses :) . I'm enjoying my weightloss and how I feel, which is GREAT!!!
