Hey, Michelle - I was told I only have to do the last two days before surgery as liquids. However, other than a protein bar this morning, I was planning to do the rest of the day on liquids. I use Myoplex powder meal replacements which are about 280 cals each. I am thinking about maybe doing every other day until I get to the last two days. How long did they tell you that you have to be on liquids pre-surgery? They told me any weight I could lose would help, but not that I had to lose a certain amount or that they would hold the surgery until I did. Good luck to you, too. I hope you have a very good surgeon and have gotten all your questions answered. Best to be all settled and confident going in to surgery. I hope you have the same excellent post-surgical support that my surgeon's office offers, too. They are simply awesome.

Topic: Had surgery 11/3 Home now
Well i had my surgery 11/3 and ll went really well. the Dr was impressed On how much my liver had shrunk being on my 2wk liquid diet. That I only have to do 1 week of post off liquids instead of 2wk. Happy to be home

Approved by insurance today to have my lapband removed and a revision to RNY!!! Surgery is scheduled for Nov 17th! Dr. Srikanth, Federal Way, WA.

Good Luck to you all. My husband is scheduled for RNY surgery on 11/11. He has gained some weight so the surgeon told him to go on a liquid diet, and he is starting it now! He was going to do lapband but after meeting with some of the health care team as part of his work up switched to RNY, which I think is a good decision for him. The surgeon told him if he is too big for the surgery it will be cancelled, so I really hope he is OK to have his surgery next Wed. I've wanted this for him for a long time. He's having it in Raleigh, NC at Rex Hospital. Does anyone know someone whose surgery had to be cancelled due to insufficient weight loss prior to surgery? He has his meeting with the anesthesiologist tomorrow and after that it is time for the surgery , we hope!
