I just had mine on Nov 3rd I was so nervous too! Once they gave me the calm down juice in my IV I was all ready to go!! The first few days were the worst but now I feel totally fine and just walk around every where. I feel ready for work already too. Just follow their instructions and you will do great! Good luck!

Topic: Surgery Nov 24....
Surgery is Tuesday November 24....yup the week of thanksgiving. Im so ready for this but scared at the same time...actually terrified. I have a wonderful supportive family and boyfriend. But not many friends since I just recently moved here and no longer keep in contact with a lot of people. Need some people to talk to you and make friends.

Yeah you need to make sure you are getting calories in your meal replacement or you will have this happen. You will do great tomorrow. I had such mixed emotions the day before and everyone had advice that was all different. I had mine a week ago today and I am doing great. The drain tubes suck but other than that I feel fine. I am back at work already and 16 lbs lighter!!!! GOOD LUCK!!!

I also had my surgery Nov 2nd and I totally agree with the previous reply. The first couple days are rough but by the 3rd I felt much better. I am sitting at my desk at work doing great a week out. The important thing to remember is that everyone's situation is different. I had a bit of nausea from the pain meds but that was it. The contrast study was hard bc the stuff is nasty and made me sick. I have tolorated everything I have put in my mouth. Milk etc. Just believe in yourself and you will do great!!

I found some good protein shakes at http://optimumnutrition.com/ - they have a variety pack of flavors and are pretty tasty. I've heard you can also find this brand at GNC.
I've been doing the pre-surg liquid diet for 8 days, have 6 days to go before surgery. I was pretty nervous about "starving" but I'm finding that if I use about 80 grams of protein per day I feel pretty good.

I've been on the liquid diet for 8 days now - surgery is scheduled for Nov 16 - which happens to be one day after I turn 40. I'm nervous and excited at the same time .... maybe a bit more nervous/freaked-out than excited.
I began the pre-surgery liquid diet last week... managed to lose 3 pounds... was hoping to lose a bit more than that. I've been told that I'll probably lose more weight during week 2 of the liquid diet. Hope that is right.

I had my surgery last Monday, November 2 and it is very normal to be nervous. I was nervous and almost backed out several times but I went through with it and I am glad I did. The first few days are rough but it is starting to get better now. Just remember, as everybody tells you, to sip water as much as you can and walk. The walking helps with those gas pains.
