My Lap Band Surgery is scheduled for this Friday, November 13...no worries about superstitions...LOL. I'm excited and nervous but ready for this to be done. The surgery is the easy part...it's afterwards when the real work begins...anticipating my new life.

Mine is on the 25th and they just called me today for the preop interview, that makes it so real, and tomorrow I go for the history and physical with the surgeon.
I am so excited to get the surgery over with and move on with my new banded life.

I had considered pushing it off a little while. Dh just got home from Iraq (his 5th tour) and then 2 days later we had the shootings here (we're at Fort Hood), so things have been tense to say the least. But my dr. explained if I did pu**** back we may fall outside the window Tricare (the military insurance) allows and there is a good chance we'd have to start the process all over, which would only add to my stress level. So I go in tomorrow.
My report time is 0630, so at least it's early. I'm nervous about the pain. And the anathesia. I had heart surgery when I was 22 and they didn't give me enough anathesia and I woke up during the procedure. Not an experience I'd like to relive.
I'm headed out in a few minutes to get my clear protein drinks and lots of sugar free popsicles. I had broth earlier this week that must have gone bad and made me violently ill, so now I can't handle the smell of broth, so I gotta find alternatives.
Okay, enough complaining, venting, whatever. Just wish me luck.

My surgery is also 11/16 (RNY). Can't wait!
Don't know if I am lucky or not. My surgeon has me slated for clear liquids for two days prior to surgery. Based on others experience, I choose to do three days of clear liquids. Interesting that surgeons have such different instructions.
Best of luck!

I'm scheduled for Monday, Nov 16. Been on the liquid diet for 10 days now. It's going ok - i've only dropped 4 pounds ... I was thinking I'd drop a little more.
I've also picked up the post-op supplies, the vitamins, colace, more protein shakes, etc.
I've only told a handful of peope what I'm about to do ... just not comfortable with many people knowing and judging. Am I crazy?
Good luck next week!
