HI TH,

Congrats on your surgery date.  I'm on the 24th.  My surgeon gave me the choice of a low cal/low fat diet which allowed starches, fruit, veggies, and protein or I could replace each meal with a protein shake.  Since I don't do well with starches and fruits (the natural sugar/carbs makes me want more!), I chose the shakes plus a low carb snack between each.  I think its less than 1200 calories and I have to do it for two weeks. 

Its going pretty good and easier when I'm at work keeping busy!

I am going to go to the meeting today so I hope to see you there. I live in Baltimore City near Fells Point. Have you been going to the meetings a long time? This will be my first meeting I will be glad to talk about some of my issues.

Hey, I hated the drain part too omg. The nurse was laughing at me ca\use I kept telling her I waa scared for it because my friends at bayview group told me about it. When she did it i made my bf hold my hand and I shreeked like eww omg i hate it. I said it felt like a snake eating its self out of my body. She laughed and said yeah i didnt want to mention some people have said snakes. I think some of the hunger is in my head too. Yesterday I was around my mom she was eating mcdonalds I gave her the ok to eat it in front of me and the smells I just wanted to eat it so bad. I kept thinking but am I reall hungry though? I got a side of beans from taco bell and ate a few bites of that and it was so yummy. I also had egg salad reall mashed yesterday too both were so good to have regular food. I am going to the group at baview tonight too!! I will have to meet you in person. They said this month group is about holiday eating so I was really excited to go. I hope to see you tonight. What area do you live in?

Laura, How are you doing? I'm in Houston too had RNY from lapband on Nov.5 Dr. Marvin. How is the pain? I'm still having tightness and burning in my left side. Have found only take a sip with the pain med and wait for 39 min. It absorps better and doesn't wash into the intestine as quick to cause drowsyness and lasts for 4 hours. Also yesterday went to half lortab/halftylenol which helps more. I'm on clears til tomorrow then hopefully on to mushies for 4 weeks. I'm ready for something different  and getting hungry. Did you know we have several groups here in Houston? I belong to the Pasadena 2nd Mon group that meets at Panera Bread off Fairmont/ Beltway 8  and 2nd Sat. at Starbucks across from Baybrook Mall in Webster off 45 So going toward Galveston. We meet this Sat. Also they have a great RDY(Ramon,Debra,Yvonne) Conference every year in the Spring. They are planning one for March in the Woodlands. Welcome to the Loser Side! I am on the 30th too.. It took me 13 months to fight my insurance. It was so emotionally exhausting..it took so much out of me. But finally I have arrived :)
