Topic: Almost 1 month Post-Op!
Hi Everyone :)

My name is Amanda and I'm new to OH, I tired another forum but a friend told me about this one so I was excited to see all it has to offer!  I had my surgery on Nov 3rd, so almost a month out!!! Unbelievable! I am happy to say I feel about 95% back to normal, I still get a little tired but that's about it. I'm starting back to the gym on the 1st and have been walking about 1 to 2 miles a day for the last week and a half.  I have finally found a protein drink I like (Nectar Strawberry/Kiwi, tastes like Crystal Light to me) my big problem is getting all the water in but I'm working on it!

I hope everyone is doing well, looking forward to getting to know you guys!

Amanda

Topic: RE: 3 weeks still in a lot of pain anyone else?
I will be out 2 weeks tomorrow and my pain is very little.  My left side and the top of my tummy are sore, but I can't really say it was pain.  I've been off pain meds since my 5th day from surgery.  I'm trying to go to the gym today.

I'm sorry you are still in pain.  We are all different, so you may just take longer.  If you are concerned you could call your Dr office.

I still have some soreness on my left side but I can manage most of my day wiithout taking the liquid Roxicet. I feel soreness and some sort of numbness on my left where the largest incision is. I had surgey on 11/17 and about a week and two days later I woke up and felt alot better. A lady who had her surgery last month is 5 weeks in and she said she is still a little sore on her left.

That is exactly what I experienced. I wasn't able to even sleep in my own bed, I had to sleep in the recliner in the living room. Then in my sixth week post op I realized that I was bending over w/out having any abdominal pain and that I hadn't taken any Tylenol that whole day. It was like a switch had been flipped. I was finally able to sleep a whole night in my own bed. My doctor's office had told me that it takes some people 6 weeks to get back to feeling "normal", and thats exactly what it took. Good luck with everything.

Hello Everyone,

I will be 3 weeks tomorrow and I am still in a lot of pain, I am still on pain killers. I was told by people I know personally that have had this surgery that by this point they were feeling better, and I just want to get some feedback from you guys about how are you doing pain wise and how many of you are still on pain meds, what type and how often. I am just looking for a little reassurance. My doctor said that some of her patients report that one morning they wake up and the pain was gone, anyone else experience this overnight change?

thanks!

Topic: RE: Had surgery on Nov 17th- first day I feel like geeting online
I also had surgery the 17th & have slowing getting back to chores.  Last night was my first night to cook a full meal.  I can get through the day without the pain meds as long as my activity level is low.  If I try to get out I need the pain meds but am still on my first bottle.  Wondering how you feel?  How much are you able to do?

Topic: RE: Question on week 2 diet.....
Texas Bariatric Specialist diet is strictly liquids for the 1st three weeks post op.   I am am 12 days in & I see the Dietician Wed so I hope that we will introduce something yummy. Anytime I feel hungry I have an EAS carb control protein shake.  Don't like the diet but I am melting away.
