I am also in a stall. Lost 21 lb before surgery, then 10 since, and nothing in the last few weeks. I have also been reassured it is normal. If only we were more patient! Also an RN, but no kids. Will keep an eye on this location, sounds like we are all in the same boat! And need to keep focusing on the 30 lbs or so we are all down - that is the important part, right?

I had my RNY on 11/04.  Lost 12 lbs the first week and nothing the next 2 weeks...NOTHING!  Today was my 4 week weigh in and I have lost 2 lbs.  It is very frustrating.  I know I am not getting in near the amount of protein my Dr. wants me to.  Just cant seem to get it in...but I keep trying.

Hey Amanda,

Thanks for asking, the pain is about the same, but I picked up an abdominal support, and it made a significant difference in my mobility and pain level. When I take it off I am very uncomfortable and pain level increases, but when it's on I came move about with little to no pain. I feel like I was given a life line with that thing!

I am not a medical professional but I wonder if the fat on my body is pulling on my healing incisions and that is causing some of the pain, where as early out in the recovery the bat and swelling was sort of acting as a "support" to the week abdominal wall? I do know it's just a thought.

I hope you are doing well in your recovery, thanks for checking in! Best wishes!

I had lots of gas the third and fourth day post-op that would not move out!!! I had to walk and walk and walk and walk and then it finally was able to pass.  I'm sorry you are having trouble, my Surgeon also perscribed some mylicon for gas relief but I don't think that helped as much as not talking then pain medication and walking.  Hope you feel better soon!

You got that right, Melissa! I downloaded an App to my blackberry, called "Pandora" it's fabulous, you put in a favorite band or favorite song and they tailor a "radio station" to your specific likes, it's amazing!  I don't know how they do it, but I'm very thankful to those smart techy people because I loved it this morning, made my workout much more pleasant!

Hope you are having a good day,
Amanda
