Topic: RE: Some call them WOW moments, I call them WHOA moments!
I haven't had any major WOW moments yet.  But I am feeling a little better because I have started losing weight again.  I lost 24 lbs. the first 2 weeks after the surgery and then NOTHING..well, a 1/2 a lb. actually but it felt like nothing.  This weekend I started losing again and am now down just over 30 lbs total in 6 weeks!

Looking forward to the next few weeks to see what they bring.  The biggest change for me over the time I was stalling to now is my fluid intake.  I was having trouble drinking the 64 oz. my doctor wanted me to but now I am exceeding that and think that might be why I am losing again!

Thanks for your wow moment, Amanda - I haven't had any and am quite depressed at this time. No weight loss for 3 weeks, and no reason for it, am regretting surgery and anything to do with it. I need a big time attitude adjustment, and it is always good to read other's successes, knowing it should be and may someday be mine. We had surgery at the same time, and I have still lost only 20 lb since surgery - and I don't think that is much. How are you doing?

So didn't feel like cooking since I feel like I've been cooking for 10 days straight through the Holidays so my husband suggested we go out to a little local dinner in our hometown, so I thought sure, why not.  I ordered a small side salad, my husband ordered a giant burger and fries and I ordered chicken strips for my daughter.  I ate maybe a cup of my salad, was so happy they had kidney and garbanzo beans, tasted great and maybe about 5 bites of my daughter's chicken strip that I stripped all the breading off of (too greasy for her and me!)... and I was driving home and thought... "WHOA! I use to eat a WHOLE dinner salad, maybe a few appetizers AND a full meal." And maybe be hungry later in the evening, amazing! And I feel so content (actually a little on the full side) and felt no jealousy of the giant burger!  Thank you GBS, I "heart" you!!! :) :) :)

Would love to hear anyone else's WOW moments! :)

Congrats on being down to 265!!  Isn't it great; to be at a weight or at a size we haven't seen in such a long time?!?!

I wish you & your family a VERY Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year!!!

Topic: Merry Christmas, Everyone!!! :)
I hope everyone has a wonderful Holiday with their friends and family!  My immediate family (parents, grandma, two brothers and their families) are getting together today, all 15 of us! It's been over 10 years since we've all been together at Christmas (my eldest brother is in the Navy and is overseas often) so it's going to be such a wonderful day!  My Mom is making a Mexican Feast, so excited! Going to have a delicious taco salad! One of my favorite things and it should go down just fine, just a lot slower and a lot less of it!!!  I woke up this morning and I was 265! Goodness, what a gift! Santa is so good to me! I just can't believe this... I mean I know I should be losing with what I take in and my activity but it's just so hard to believe, this is this smallest I've been in about 7 years!  And in 30 more lbs, it will be the smallest I've been in about 15 years! I'm so grateful for this surgery and I'm so grateful for all of you, it's so wonderful to have people to talk and share with!  You guys are the best and I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas and a Happy Happy (THINNER) New Year!

haha, you have to do what you have to do, mindylou! :)  I'm so happy that coke just doesn't bother me, I gave up caffeine (and sodas) when I was pregnant almost 3 years ago and never started back on it again but I know how much people love soda and it must be hard!!!  At least you spit it out! How much longer are you on "soft" foods?!?

Topic: RE: How's everyone doing? What is everyone eating?

Melissa- How’s the pain around your belly button doing?!? Mine did the red, itchy thing for a while, I would bathe it with hydrogen peroxide twice a day when I showered and it helped SO much but it didn’t really hurt. L I still have a little numbness around my belly button and the larger incision on my left side but that’s normal. Hope you are doing better!!!

Joan- Sounds like we have the same little pouch! Everything so far is pretty easy to go down, just little bites, I did have a bite of the inside of an apple pie and polly (what I’ve affectionately named my pouch) did not like it much, I didn’t get sick but I didn’t feel very good!!! Won’t be eating that again! I was sorta worried if I didn’t have that “dumping" if I was okay to eat everything if eventually that’d be a problem but I feel great that I can have a bite of something I really love and not have it bother me and be totally satisfied!

JustaSweety- First of all, CONGRATS on the insulin going bye-bye, so very awesome, by far one of the most awesome things about this surgery!!! I am so very happy for you. Is it not the greatest feeling when you realize you are on the floor playing with your kids and think… wow, I don’t want to climb back up on the coach and take a break, I feel great!!! By far, that is my most I’m thankful for, giving me more quality time with my daughter! Thank goodness for this forum, right?!? So nice to hear people are in the same boat as you, I am sure we have lots of plateaus in our future but lots and lots of weight loss too! So great!

Topic: RE: First day back to the gym... YAY me!
Good luck, Willow :) Hope all goes well!  I tried the 4am thing for 2 weeks but I was just soooooooooooo tired by the end of the day, so started going when my husband gets home from work and feel MUCH better! :)  I chase a 22 month old around all day so a 4am start time was just a little much for me. haha.  Maybe once I start back at work around the first of the year!
