Question on week 2 diet.....
I've been eating sugar free pudding since I came home from the hospital (I'm on the full liquid diet). It's been going great...no problems.
For breakfast I eat:
1/4 c. of cream of wheat (maple & brown sugar flavor or cinnamon swirl)
1/4 c. of light/fat free yogurt
For lunch:
1/4 c. fat free yogurt
1/4 c. sugar free pudding (different flavors like banana cream, lemon, chocolate)
For dinner:
1/4 c. 98% fat free cream soup (like mushroom or chicken)
1/4 c. fat free yogurt
How are things going for you? How's your pain?

I have 2 cups of fat free skim milk broken up in 4 1/2 cup servings throughout the day. In each 1/2 cup I either mix protein powder or Carnation Instant Breakfast. And, when I prepare the cream soup I mix it with milk instead of water. I try to get protein in anyway I can. Once I get to the pureed stage later next week I plan to have more of the actual protein shakes, but I need to keep to the full liquid diet, so drinking a blended protein shake is not what my docs want right now. I just take the 1/2 c. of milk & mix in a heaping tbsp. of protein powder.
Hope that helps!

Interesting how different everyone's diets are. For the first three days following hospital release, I was on SF clear liquids only like jello, popsicles, and clear broth (no cream soups, no pudding). After than I was able to add a protein shake. Then beginning 10 days post-op I could add simple solid foods like SF pudding, eggs, NF/LF cottage cheese and yogurt, beans, cream of wheat etc.
