Hi
I had my RNY on tuesay, adn its thurday and i am home.  i am so glad to be home!  i am sipping water, scared to get dehydrated, but the nurse said with all the iv fluids i had that that won't be aproblem for a while.

my pain is worse than i expected. Right under my breasts, very full feeling and very uncomfortable.  The lortab helps some, i am just hoping this is normal :)

So glad everything went well.  Our lives were changed forever last week as I myself had RNY on Monday 11-09.

I also had surg on 11/10. Been over 20 years since I had surg and yes it hurts! But  the discomfort now is located in my left side where most of the work was done.  I know it will get better. As everyone says -sip,sip,sip.

Congratulations. Try to walk as often as you can tolerate. Th trapped gas may be the cause of your discomfort. Another suggestion is to rock gently in a rocking chair. I had my RNY on the same day. I find if I walk after I drink my protein shake, that fullness passes. Good luck- Laura

Hi I had my rNY on Monday, I had pain down my left side, but mostly in my left shoulder.
I attended a support group meeting that Thursday, and when I asked what that pain was
they all yelled out gas.
It finally went away yesterday and I feel well.
Hang in there I am sure it is gas too,  Who knew so much about gas before??

Good Luck.
