Surgery scheduled for Monday, Nov 16

I've been on the liquid diet for 8 days now - surgery is scheduled for Nov 16 - which happens to be one day after I turn 40.  I'm nervous and excited at the same time .... maybe a bit more nervous/freaked-out than excited.

I began the pre-surgery liquid diet last week... managed to lose 3 pounds... was hoping to lose a  bit more than that.  I've been told that I'll probably lose more weight during week 2 of the liquid diet.  Hope that is right.

Does anyone know how long one is off work after a laproscopic bypass?

My surgery is also 11/16 (RNY).  Can't wait! 

Don't know if I am lucky or not.  My surgeon has me slated for clear liquids for two days prior to surgery.  Based on others experience, I choose to do three days of clear liquids.  Interesting that surgeons have such different instructions.

Good luck with your surgery today ladies!!  Be sure to post how things went after you return home & get situated.

I'll be doing the liquid diet the day before (that's all that is required with my surgeon).  That's a day I'm not looking forward to, but I know it will get me all cleaned out & prepped for surgery.
