Like everyone else, doing GREAT!  Love my DS!

Hitting the 2-week tired spells, and napping every day.  That will pass soon!

Had a wonderful Thanksgiving with family, and looking forward to shopping for a New Year's Eve outfit that's smaller :)

I am 2 weeks and 2 days out and feel great have moments every now and then but I am also down 22 pounds...Go to the doc on wednesday for my first check up so we will see what they say...I agree the beginning was rough but I think i have mastered the drinking and eating so far.  Still have moments when I want to take a large drink of water, but still learning.

I am 3 1/2 weeks out and am doing great!  I can tolerate almost everything I eat.  I do need to make sure I get all my fluids in or I find that I feel really weak and crappy.... I just want to sleep all day!  I drink a protein shake loaded with extra protein powder throughout the day, and 3-4 small meals high in protein.  I did have a low serum protein on my first post-op blood work... so I know I have to make sure I get it all in.  My uric acid was high too, which could cause kidney stones or gout.  So they put me on medication for that.  I have my blood rechecked tomorrow, and since I am feeling so much better than I was 2 weeks ago... I have a feeling all of it will be normal now!!  I think it is a matter of getting into a routine to make sure all the required fluids, nutrients, and supplements are taken every day.  I have my 4 week post op visit this Thursday..... I can't wait to see how much more weight I've lost.... I don't own a scale... hmmmm... maybe I need to ask Santa for one!!!  (who'd have ever thought a scale would be on my Christmas wish list!!! )
Take Care,
Debbi

Honestly you are one of many many that have wondered about the diarrhea following surgery including myself.  Like people have said it is very normal because you are taking in liquids.  For me it didn't go away till I started on purees.  With all the research I did this was a surprise to me too.  It isn't pleasant but ends soon and then on to the opposite problem.

Take care!

Yep....normal.  I had it for over a week, I figured it was because everything I was consuming was liquid based so of course it was going to come out that way.  It does get better over time.
