Topic: RE: Exercising
WTG on the weight loss!! For the exercising I took it slow. I felt like I should have been exercising as soon as possible too. My surgeon never commented on having to wait or anything so I just started slow and never pushed myself. My preferred way of exercise right now is to listen to my ipod and dance. LOL For me just having fun dancing and singing to my favorite songs is much easier than a treadmill right now. I wouldn't put too much pressure on yourself though just do what you can and it will get better and more often.

I like ranch style beans, and you can add some cheese to up the protien count.
Eggs scrambled with salsa, if you add the salsa before you cook the eggs it makes them very soft.
I have used canned meat, chicken or ham and added salsa.
Cottage cheese. You can flavor it with a little SF jello or pudding pownder. Good if you want a little sweet.
LoFat string cheese.
Topic: RE: So How is everyone doing?
This is how it's described in my notes from surgeon:
Hibernation Syndrome: 2-4 weeks after surgery, your body reacts to the smaller amount of food. You feel tired, lethargic and often depressed. Your body wants to slow down until the old food supply returns. This just means your body is recovering from the effects of major surgery. The best way to deal with this is to recognize the symptoms and know they are normal. Start to exercise so your body gets used to using body fat as a source of energy. When your body adjusts, the hibernation syndrome will end. This may take 2 weeks.

Still trying to figure it all out myself.

Did you have to do a pre op diet before your surgery? If so how did you handle the protein shakes during that time. I am on my 2nd day of my 2 week pre op and I just cant handle the protein shakes. They make me gag too.
Topic: RE: feeling bloated but still hungry??????
Can't help lots as I had a RNY and don't very often feel real hunger. NOW head hunger I feel all the time. Try to really listen to your body and see which you are feeling. If it is real body hungar you might try calling your doctor for advice. Sorry you are having arough time.
Topic: RE: Water Intake?
Water is my biggest concern right now! I can only get about 2 bottles in (32 oz) which is half of what my intake should be. I'm almost 3 weeks post op. I find tha****er makes me a little ill and actually hurts the pouch, I've tried crystal light, the lipton to go white tea, and I just can't seem to get it all in. I think the biggest problem is that I can't drink tons of water at once. I guess it's all trial and error

I can't do protein shakes, they gag me, so I'm only eating foods high in protein. Try scrambled eggs, babybel cheese, baked fish, those are my faves
Topic: RE: I'm Home
I was instructed too increase my fluids also. Very quickly I could drink 1/4 to 1/3 cup at a time. I was worried that this was to much based oon what I was reading here but my dr was right. I had no problem.
