Topic: RE: More potty talk... sorry
I had surgery on the same day as you and I've noticed that I've slowed down on the pooing too. Sorry I know I'm not any help but I'm wondering the same thing too.
Topic: More potty talk... sorry
Hi everyone...
Sorry about the subject but I think some of you out there can help me... I thank you in advance.
I had RNY on November 17th. I had diarrea for 3 or 4 days after getting back home. Since then, I have gone only 2 times. Its been since last Friday (11/28) since the last time. So... its been about 4 or 5 days. Still "letting wind" several times a day and I do not have any gas discomfort. Is this normal? I assume since there is a lot less going in, there would be less to come out. The past two days I have had applesauce but it doesn't seem to have helped.
I'd love to hear about your experience... thanks.

I know what you mean about mashed potatos. I couldn't wait to eat something that could actually stick to a spoon LOL.
I'm down 23lbs since the morning of my surgery Nov 10.
Speaking of IVs, I was up 14lbs the day after surgery!!! My face was so fat and I was freaking, but by the time I went home, the 14lbs was gone and my face was back to normal.
I'd say I'm losing about a pound a day.
Congrats on you weight loss so far. This is just so much easier then all the dieting I've done in the past. No more mental torture.

Topic: RE: feeling bloated but still hungry??????
Oh, Cheryl --- it is so good to hear someone else say "head hunger". My brain wants to eat and eat and eat but my belly is full! What a mind game this will be!

Topic: RE: Exercising
Today was my first visit after surgery and I was cleared for light activity. I was told walking was ok but nothing too strenuous. I have a treadmill and was planning to dust it off. Good for you starting up quickly. I myself have been shopping the gyms to find one with the right fit.

Since being home on the 28th, I have lost 16.4 pounds! I am sure a lot was IV weight.

Mashed potatoes never tasted so goooooood! I am two weeks post op and was cleared for soft/purees today. That little serving tasted like heaven! Just curious? How is everyone doing with their weight loss so far? I was a little nervous to get on the scale at the office but it was good news!
Topic: RE: So How is everyone doing?
Yes, mine was open too. Came home Friday, took pain meds and naps on Sat and Sun and now everything is back to normal. No problems eating, sleeping, walking, etc. I am so glad! I really hate when there is a bump in my daily routine!

Topic: RE: Soft foods
Thanks, I had a banana first and it was great. LOL I just don't wont to get sick of the same stuff over and over again.
Topic: RE: Soft foods
I am the president of the I hate protein shakes club!! I really don't understand how people can drink them and even say they like them. I just shudder at the thought of having to gag one down.
For soft foods my staples were refried beans with cheese and some taco sauce and scrambled eggs with salsa.
Honestly it was such a joy to finally eat that I may have eaten about anything.
Take care!
