That is odd as FF milk is considered water in the fluid world.  Any caffeine free low cal drink, water, FF milk and diet drinks (if Caffeine free) should count towards your liquid BUT your Dr knows best!  :-)  Luckily I LOVE Pink Lemonade!

So while I don't get paid to work...I had surgery on Tuesday, was released the next day (lap RNY) and on Monday had to take care of my 3 young kids (2, 4, and 6) all by myself and drive them around to and from school and activities.  Not to metion that my two littlest ones came down with a virus and have blisters covering their entire mounths except for the top of their tongues, fevers and all.  My two year old who weighs 35 lbs has been wanting me to carry him and hold him all day long, and he never wants that.  It has been a VERY busy week but I survived and so did my family.  All is good tonight and they are in bed asleep and hopefully I will be too.  The thing I notice the most is that when I get a chance to sit down (not often) I totally fall asleep.  My kids are pretty well behaved but still it's hard.  I find myself falling asleep for 5 minutes here or there.  I only take pain meds first thing in the morning and once a night.  My husband is home at noght but he too is sick woth a nasty chest cold, so he is out of it also.  When it rains it pours huh?  Good thing God never gives us more than we can handle! So I think all you ladies will be fine, just don't pu****  Listen to your body and only do what feels right.  Have a great weekend!

In my pre-RNY life i used to treat myself to meals out by myself once a week.  this was my time to read a book, eat something horribly bad and drink unlimited diet coke.  My top choices to do this were McD's, Boston Market or Wendy's.  Today i decided that I would make a trip out and see how it went - Boston Market being the only acceptable choice for me now.  I love me some turkey.  I got the turkey, green beans and mashed potatos.  i ate the part of turkey i allotted myself first, then a few string beans and lastly the potatos.  i'm a sucker for mashed potatos.  but i felt this odd feeling.  i panicked a little - am i going to dump?  is there too much butter hidden in here???  I stopped eating and waited.  kept reading my book.  nothing happened.  more reading.  still nothing.  still wanted those potatos, but got a to-go top and went on my way, shopping in the nearby plaza and sipping my water.

i found full - and stopped.  amen!

I went back to work after 1 week and I unload trucks at a department store! I can barely walk after the shifts, but am having no problems with the incisions. I also drink 64+ oz of water or iced tea daily.

Well since we're sharing recovery stories.  I had surgery 11/17, came back to work light duty on 12/1.  Not supposed to lift more than 20lbs till 12/15.  I work as a Death Investigator for the County Coroner's Office and lifting is a big part of our job.  My boss has been excellent and very cooperative and helpful with my recovery.  On an exciting note, I am down 35.2lbs since my surgery.  I was feeling a little frustrated lately but now I am feeling pretty good since doing my most recent weigh-in.  OH has been a great helper through this journey.

i work on a aids treatment floor/infectious diseases/alcohol & drug detox and general med surg.  its a busy floor not a medically critical.  i already told the nurse manager i wont be lifting and being superman but we have good pca's.  the pa in the surgeons office was skeptical she wanted to keep me out longer but i had already talked to the surgeon and he agreed so i was lucky.  i cannot live on that disability pay 170 a week egads.

good luck all

I have been "clogged up" so to speak since the week before my OR -- #$%@ optifast.  Things are slowly starting to release.   Keys, I think, are walking +++, getting in as much fluid as you can, and fibre where my possible.  I start every day with 1/4 of oat bran which gives me a copule of grams fiber, and then have 1 benefibre tablet 3 x day -- 1.3 g fibre each i think -- but chewable, and go down easy.  I could increase the benefibre, but i'm frightened of the other extreme.

The crystal light-like things with fiber sound cool though...
