Topic: Average Day of Meals?
Hi to my fellow November surgery patients...

I know we are not supposed to compare ourselves when it comes to pounds lost... but.. I can't seemed to stop doing it! I thin****ep looking because I feel like I could be losing more... I'm hoping you all can share what you think is working for you and how much exercise you're getting in.

I started out at 273 on my surgery day and am at 246 today... that's down 27 pounds in one day short of 6 weeks. This is my typical day of food:

Breakfast: one egg scrambled (only eat 1/2 of it) and 1/2c of natural applesauce
Lunch: 2 tbs of chicken salad, a slice of Laughing Cow cheese and 4 saltine crakers
Dinner: 2oz of baked chicken thigh and vegetable

If I need an afternoon snack I will have a piece of string cheese or applesauce

I'd really love to hear from you on what you are eating and how much exercise you are doing. Thank you so much...  ~Marci

EDIT: I had not read Amanda's post and this one is nearly identical... lesson learned.

Topic: RE: hows everybody's energy level doing?
I was doing pretty good...until about 2 weeks ago.  I think my body finally figured out that this isn't a temporary thing.  I had the hardest time even getting out of the bed!!  Drying my hair makes me tired!!  UGH....energy level is wayyyyy looooowwwww.  I'm going to have bloodwork done this week....see if I'm lacking anything (I'm thinking my iron might be a little low...which isn't going to help with the constipation if I have to take iron.  Glad to know I'm not the only one!!

For the most part my energy level has been pretty good lately.  I've been able to walk just over 2 miles in 45 mins.  Plus we live on the third floor of an apartment and I climb the stairs several times a day, sometimes even without losing my breath.  WooHoo  All and all I'm feeling good.  I just hope that it lasts.  LOL

It takes about 6 months for your energy to stabilize -- you have good days and bad days, but you really don't get to your new normal for 6 months.  Just roll with it -- do more when you feel like it, and rest when you don't!  It gets better!

I had a VSG on 11/13 and have been very lucky with no nausea BUT nausea can be a problem for VSGers and it can last up to 6 months in the worst cases but usually subsides much sooner.  Hang in there and take the nausea meds.
