D 1T mashed potatoes and 1 T boiled cabbage---felt like crap and didnt even want to eat...
was a puny 46 g protein....but hey better than some days
I just wanted to chime in on the laughing cow cheese too....I used to love this stuff pre op...tastes good, low in cals...what more to love.....then I went to buy it post op and it has VERY LITTLE protein....I for one struggle every day with reaching my protein goal..so if you are like me it would be better to get the traditional cheese....I am sure it is good for others but for me I have to choose protein dense foods...just my 2 cents
but since I hijacked the thread I can post what my typical food log looks like...
Breakfast: Protein Shake made with 6 oz 1% milk (26 g)
Lunch: 1/2 turkey sandwich.....2 oz turkey, a little mayo, slice of real cheese (not kraft singles) and 1 slice healthy life bread (14g) Generally I will not eat but a couple bites of the bread
Snack - 1/2 pure protein bar (10 g)
Dinner: 2 oz meatloaf, Tbs Veggies, 1 tbs Mashed potatoes (18 g)
Lately I have been having 1/2 C - 1 C of milk at night.....(8g)
This totals 76 g of protein.....now this is my ideal day...usually I forget the snack -- but it gives you an idea of what I can do
B - 1/3 cup Special K w/protein, 1/3 cup of skim milk
L - Shrimp salad
D - Black Eyed Peas
S - 3 Crackers with Cream Cheese
1/2 my vitamins and about 2 bottles of water....
Snack: 16 ounces water, 1 ounce unsalted peanuts
Lunch: Protien Bar
Snack: 8 ounces water and 5 grapes
Dinner: 2 ounces ground turkey with 2 tbsp speghetti sauce - no noodles !! Too many carbs just couldn't see myself doing that
Snack 2% string cheese from Kraft
That was it. I know that I need to drink more water. Still working on all the vitamins. Having some trouble getting them all in but going to try swallowing the ones I had before surgery. Dr seems to think that I can do it, do you all chew yours or are you brave and went back to swallowing them?
B - 1 cappucino protein drink
L - about 1/3 cup of turkey chili, 1 wedge laughing cow cheese, 2 crackers
D - about 1/3 cup of split pea with ham soup
S - 3 crackers w/cream cheese, 1 SF pudding, 1 cup skim milk
1/2 my vitamins, 3 bottles of water....
NEXT!!
B - 3oz peaches in water, no sugar added
S - Protein shake
L - Small crab cake and attempted some asparagus but it too stringy
D - Some imitation crabmeat with ****tail sauce
I did get in all my vitamins as well and did pretty good with my water.
HAPPY NEW YEAR its going to be a great one...
