Topic: RE: What did you eat Monday?
Monday, Jan. 5th:
B - Coffee
L - 3 slices of turkey, 1 slice of 2% Swiss rolled & dipped in hot mustard
D - 1/2 cup Taco Soup.....and a 1/2 a corn muffin that I wasn't supposed to have
S - String Cheese
vitamins & 64 oz. water
I saw the surgeon today for my 6-week check-up. I mentioned that sometimes when I eat I have pain & that I thought it was gas bubbles. Nope - he told me to take smaller bites (no bigger than the size of a dice), chew really, really well and slow-down. Guess what....I came home after the appt. & was able to eat an entire scrambled egg by following his rules. Before that, I had only ever been able to manage 2/3 of an egg at most. My lesson learned.....FOLLOW THE RULES! (Duh)
One more lesson learned today: Do NOT get behind in your laundry!!! I only have a few pairs of pants that fit me at this smaller size. NONE of those were clean today, so I had to go to the Dr. in a not-so-attractive pair of sweatpants. May sound silly, but I've always had plenty of clothes and could find "something" to wear without fear. Not Now!

I know the feeling too! EVERYTHING that I put in my mouth on Saturday made me feel like that...then I figured out why. We went out of town with 12 other people so for Breakfast, Lunch and dinner, there was a table full of friends...and I was so busy running my mouth that I wasn't paying any attention to how I was eating....the sad part is...my hubby is the one who pointed it out to me on the way home!! UGH...I HATE that feeling!!!! Have you had any dumping episodes yet??

B - Fage (1/2 container of 0%) with No Sugar Added Peaches (4 small slivers)
L - 1/2 Salmon patty and a slice of provolone cheese (ate too fast and got sick)
D- Water and sugar free/caffine free coffee...
SIDE NOTE -
Im 7 weeks out and Im still de-learning my eating habits that I had pre surgery so I often eat too fast and make myself sick. I now TOTALLY understand when they (experienced WLS Vets) tell us/me to dedicate time to focus on eating each meal. Now I see why that is so important...because the feeling you get when you have eaten too fast and you cram food into your pouch is THE WORST FEELING IN THE WORLD!

Thanks for posting this. I was wondering about being on track with weight loss. This helps.
Topic: RE: average loss
Hi Terri
I has VGS on 11-26 with Dr Walton. I have lost 25.5 since surgery and a total of 43 pounds so it sounds like you and I are neck and neck!!!!! I also think we are doing fine and it is hard to get motivated to exercise. I have two bad knees and use a "gazelle" glider exercise thing that doesn't feel too much like exercise but I think it helps. ....I hope it helps. I have also been "chair dancing" to a video I ordered on line.
Good luck , be good to yourself and be strong.
