WOW, congratulations!  That is amazing, I'm down 62 pounds since 11/12/08 and still loosing.  I've joined Curves and go 3-4 times a week (and now we're doing boot camp yipeee) and on the other 1-2 days I'm doing my Jullian Michaels/The Biggest Looser dvd for weight training.

I don't really have the "head" hunger pains, but I can stiill only eat very little, i.e.,  1/2 a sandwich, small baked potatoe, 1 egg, small bowl of oatmeal, etc  I'm having no problems now getting in my proteins as I love, love, love seafood so I'm able to intake sushi (my all time favorite) which I love my salmon, yellow tail, eel, shrimp and tuna!  Since these are very high in protein I can usually get it in easily.  I also get most of it in my food intake although I do like to drink protein as well.

I'm down from a 22/24 to a 14/16 and I'm averaging about 2-2 1/2 lbs per week!  Good luck to your continued weight loss and again congratulations!

I am pretty happy with my progress so. I have a had a few stalls also but I believe they were self induced. Too much on the go and not keeping track of what I was or wasn't putting into my body. So... progress to date- 38 lbs pre-op, 19 of it was 2 week liquid diet and 56 lbs post-op with a grand total of 94 lbs. 6 more and I get a century card! Yea!!! I am inbetween sizes right now and it is driving me crazy. My size 18 pants are to big but I am still not comfortable in a 16, just haven't found the right cut I guess. Any input would be greatly appreciated. I don't have a big panni but it definitely changes the way clothing fits.

I'm with you on that one, Nancy!  I, too, thought I'd be the only one in history not to lose after WLS! I had a 4 week stall one month out, in fact, I had GAINED 12 pounds from day of surgery to my first week dr. visit!  Talk about discouraging.....but it's wonderful to see people shedding pounds. Everyone should be proud of each and every pound that's gone, and congratulations to all of you!

Hey November Surgeries!

Great thread- I am feeling a lot of energy and definately the healthiest I have felt in a long time. I have lost 101lbs (21lbs on 10 day pre-op diet). I have had a couple very long stalls but I believe I wasn't getting in the protein and water I needed so I upped both significantly.

Everyone is doing so well-Whoo Hoo!!! It is easy to get on here and get discouraged comparing weights on here (I know, this is my new cross addiction along with weighing too often), but what I keep in mind is:

My goal weight may be your surgery starting weight.

We all have different frames, metabolisms, medical issues, etc. that impact how we lose, where we lose, and when we lose.

I know I already feel great and have approx 70lbs to go, I can't imagine what that will feel like (I'll be unstoppable).

The "rules" work. During a month long stall I was convinced I was the one that would be on Newsweek Cover with a headline of "The only person WLS didn't work for..." My husband hid my scale and I continued to follow the "rules" and broke the stall!

Feel proud of what you have accomplished and kep on keepin on...what a ride!    Nancy

We have the same wonderful surgeon!!!!!! I actually saw him & Lisa today. You are doing wonderful & I am truly sorry if you feel like I was asking to compare everyone. I was just wondering if I was feeling & eating the same as everyone else out there, my weight loss is just a plus in my book I would have never lost this weight if it were not for Dr. G & his caring staff! Please don't take my post as me thinking my loss is any better then anyone else, I am not one of those kinds of people. I actually did have a high BMI & that is why I am loosing at the rate that I am & I also would like to think that my working out & trying to eat the right things are also part of my progress. Again sorry if I offended you in any way, I truly was interested in everyone elses progress at our stage in the game.

Do you attend the support group meetings? I have been to 3 so far they are interesting & I was surprised to find out that Dr. G attends too!!!! That was comforting to learn that he does care, not that I could not tell that already :)
Take Care,
 Katherine

Hi there! I had my Sleeve on 11/17/08! I too, am what I call a slow loser. I started out pre-op at 230 lbs. I weighed 218 on the day of my surgery and I'm 190 now. I've gone from a size 22/24 and am now in size 16's. I feel sooo much better. My blood pressure is now normal, I am off of my GERD medication, I can bend without getting heartburn, I'm exercising a lot more....

I decided from the beginning to not be a slave to the scale. Yes, it'd be really nice to see it moving faster. But the fact is, I could have NEVER EVER done this on my own. I've tried for years. I'm feeling so blessed that I've dropped a total of 40 lbs in 4 months. I'm actually ecstatic about it. When we compare ourselves to others, we will feel let down. Everyone loses differently. Everyone is at different BMI's to start with. The higher the BMI to start with, the faster the weight seems to drop. My surgeon assured me that my BMI not being the highest would move slower but that I'm right where I need to be.

You are doing AWESOME. It's Not over! Not even close! Keep doing the right things:  getting in your fluid, your protein, avoiding starchy carbs as much as possible, and exercising! It's gonna happen! It has to!

I'm rooting for you and know you will meet your goal.  Take care and thanks for posting!

I've lost about 70lbs since I started the process.  I've gone from a tight 22 bottoms/1x tops to a 14bottom/lg top.  It feels good to have gone down so many sizes.  I want to be under 200lbs for my 6month checkup so I'm about 16lbs away!  I feel like I'm one of those slow losers no matter what I do so I just take it as it comes.  I'm grateful that I am feeling good and have had no complications.

I'm still essentially stalled.  I lost 40 lb between Nov 1 and Jan 1, another 8 lb in January, gained ½ lb in February and now am down another 3.  So that's 40 lb the first 2 months and 11 lb the next 3 months.  And craving sugar, which is really strange since I never was a sweets eater.

Im down 68 lbs since surgery (11/18/08)...energy is WAAAAAYYYY up and using it at the gym 4 times a week.  I went from a TIGHT 30/32 to a 18/20 or a 20/22, depends on the maker.  Im still battling with the head hunger and the voices trying to convince me that I want sweets and things that are bad for me.  But I'd rather be skinny so I ignore them and tell them to shut up. Im working hard to get to my goal of losing 100 pounds by my 6 month mark...I hope I can do it, if not thats ok too.

I am down 48 pounds since 11/17/08.  I am very depressed about it since I see so many people with high losses.  I was barely a 40 BMI and I know this is the reason for my slow loss, but I still wishing it was more!

I am right within the Doctor's average category though.  I started out at 226 and am at 178.  I am in a size 12 pants and a large shirt.  I wore an outfit to dinner last week that I have not worn since Easter 1998 or 1999.  That was really weird!  Luckily, it is back in style....hahaha.  Most of my old clothes are a size 12 so I am happy about having a whole new wardrobe, so to speak.  I mean it has been a good 7 years since I fit in most of them!!

I am hoping to lose 100 lbs, but am getting scared about reaching that goal, since I am coming close to the 6 month mark soon.  I know I can lose more, but this board has me scared that once the 6 month honeymoon period is over then I am as good as toast...lol  I have a trainer and have been lifting, so I am still seeing a loss of inches, by my clothing sizes dropping.  I try not to get too attached to the number on the scale, but I do still look every couple of weeks..

Anyon else slow like me?
