I am still not there and I have slipped a bit but I have lost the bulk of it so if I dont get any smaller then I will still be happy but 30 more pounds would thrill me to no ends. I would still do it again Im happier and healthier then I have been in 20 years

Have you lost all the weight you wanted? Are you at goal?  Have you had lasting complications? Would you do it again? Have you had a hard time following the "rules"? Have you regain? How have you changed since your surgery? Do you find a difference in your personality? or in your marriage/ relationships?
Do you like yourself, the new person you've become? Are you Happy?

I guess by answering these questions, I'm hoping we can see where we're at in the big WLS picture.

Thanks for updating us.
I've been considering a TT as well as arms, and the girls, all in one surgey. I heard it really hurts. Would you do it again knowing what you know now about the pain?
Hope you get those pics up. I'd love to see them.

Tummy tuck was WAAAAAYYYYYY more painful than the RNY, but I made it through. I am 5 1/2 weeks out and things look wonderful. I am really pleased with the scar. It is almost pencil thin, and I can see a 6 pack under the swelling. My surgeon says I will continue to swell on and off for up to 6-8 months, but I am thrilled with how it looks now.

I had several friends say that I needed to see a plastic surgeon, and I did consult a few, however I went back to my bariatric surgeon, Dr. James Kane Jr, and he did an excellent job. He made me feel much more confortable than the PS I consulted with, and best of all, he got my insurance BCBS of Illinois to pay for it all. Not just a panniculectomy, but a FULL tummy tuck with muscle repair. I just got my eob from the insurance, they paid 100% with ZERO patient liability.

If I can figure out how to post pictures without them looking all stretched out, I'll post some progression pics.

I remember waking up from my RNY and thinking - NO WAY AM I EVER GOING TO WILLINGLY HAVE MORE SURGERY.  Much as I hate the hanging flab and skin, I can live with it.  Then again, I maybe didn't have as much weight to lose as some.

Hope your surgery went well - let us know how great you look!

Hi Everyone,
Just wondering if any of you November 08er's have had a tummy tuck. I am having mine in less than 48 hours. I am scheduled Friday morning at 7am. I was perfectly relaxed until yesterday. Now I am nervous and excited at the same time. I knowit is painful, but I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice.

My goal was also to get from 241 to about 135, but I haven't made it yet.  In fact, until this recent illness I hadn't lost so much as an ounce in over a year and I was really discouraged since I'm still 30 lb from my goal.  Until this last weight drop, I'd been wearing my mother's clothes but happily now they are also too big so I broke down and did some shopping.  What a relief - my taste is really a lot different than hers but I hate shopping and didn't want to have to do it all again!

As far as my illness, I've been laid up twice in the past month for over a week at a time and despite dozens of tests doctors still have no idea what was wrong with me aside from being too weak to even sit up.  Scary, especially since it puts my job in jeopadry.

Hi Sandie.
Thanks for replying....
I know what you mean about the new outfits.  I love some of my cute new things as well.
I hope you are feeling well now.  That is scary ha?  I haven't been ill since my surgery and someone was just telling me the other day that they hope I don't get sick because I have nothing on my body to help fight it..
I have lost a total of 120 (ish) lbs...I was 247 the day of surgery and I stepped on the scale today at the drug store and I weight 121.5lbs....I feel great.  Never felt better.  I remember when I was going through the process of having the surgery and the Dr. told me his goal for me was about 135-140lbs...I said there is no way I will ever get that small!!!  And here I am.  Amazing.
Good to hear from you...I hope more people come to this forum so that we can hear how they are doing.
Take care.
