Topic: RE: DON'T READ THE MEMORIALS! -NOT NOW
I had a blood clot in the 8th month of pregnancy with my first child (1987) and it was the single biggest fear for me.  My Dr said we are up and walking within 4 hrs and we are given the Luvonox so I feel much better.

Topic: RE: Anybody have to go on a liquid diet before surgery?
yes I am doing the liver reducing diet, my surgeon is reccomending 2 weeks of it prior to surgery so next Monday, I need to start it.  He is reccomending 4 protein shales a day as well as sugar free apple sauce, cream of wheat sugar free pudding, sugar free jello 1/2 cup serving sizes and no more than 5 servings a day. the procedure is necessary of you are having laproscopic surgery as it makes it easier for the surgeon to work with the laproscopic instruments and reduces the chances of having to open you up.

Topic: RE: sleeve surgery on Nov 24. I'm scared and excited!
do you have a date yet? I'm feeling exactly the way you are! I go from being really excited about it, to being really nervous, to being afraid I'll really not get used to not being able to eat. My husband really likes to cook, so I hope it won't be a problem for him. But I just keep telling myself that this is something I'm doing for ME and I'm so sick of trying to lose weight and failing all the time. So this has got to be a better alternative!

Thanks so much for responding and good luck with your surgery and afterwards!  Muffy

Hey there...well my Dr. wants me to do a liquid diet for 2days before my sx and the list consists of clear broth (if your eating soup make sure it doesn't have too much fat), Gatorade, apple juice (not from concentrate), water and Crystal Light.  I know it's gonna be hard, but hey we gotta do it for our best! Good luck

As far as I know, I don't need to, but I'd like to go on one to try to drop a few pounds and shrink my liver.
What did they recomend to you? Protein shakes? Vitamins? Broth? What else?
Thanks for your input.

Topic: RE: Reading This Board
I agree.
The only way I know I've read a post is if I actually remember reading it, or my face is still in the "last to reply" box lol. And that is only if I replied to the post.  Just to read one???? Forget it, I'm reading the same ones over and over and thinking... oh yeah, I read this already.

They have to come up with a better solution.

Congrat on your date. That's my hubby's birthday, and now it will be yours too.

You pretty much summed up how I'm feeling. Scared something will go wrong, scared I'll miss eating, scared I'll re-gain my weight. Lots of fears, but very excited too. I can't wait to start losing this weight. I can't wait to fit into normal clothes from a regular store. I can't wait to feel pretty.  I really can't wait to stop feeling selfconcious and embarrased.
Soon, those fears will be replaced with thoughts of   " Thank goodness I did it and I'd do it all over again"
