Topic: RE: Anybody have to go on a liquid diet before surgery?
Yes, I have to start on the 15th of November on a liquid protein diet. I am hoping to lose a good 20 pounds prior to my surgery being on the liquid cleanse! :-) It is going to be here so soon!

I have to do 2 weeks prior to surgery liquid 5 and half packs of carnations breakfast a day and sugar free popcicles and jello will be allowed. This is to also prepare for the weeks after the surgery as well. Anyway that is what I am told.

I was told that I may have to do the shots 2 weeks prior if I am not below a certain weight .( blush I dont remember what that weight is) But not after, this will be a question I am putting on my list to ask.
Topic: November 24th surgery
Well I finally have my date but I still have to do all the preop ,waiting on the clinic to call and I am going to try to get the date set sooner. The 24th is a date I choose before I was approved. Now that I am approved I am ready today. :)

Anyone do anything fun today?
I played with boys - too much fun! Stayed on top of laundry and dishes, did the "responsible" paperwork for surgery, living will, medical trust, et cet. Trying to do flylady.com cleaning, but master bedroom seems too far gone to help :)
Eating habits - good amount of protien, no sweets. Having a hard time with portion control - it's hard for me to grasp I'll be full with a small amount of food. Thinking of alternatives to eating when bored or stressed...

Hi Anita
I am fairly new to this too. MY date is 11/18. I am scared, excited, worried, and happy all at the same time. I am on a high protein, lo carb. diet. But not liquid. I am also having a RNY. I have met some really nice people on here. Don't worry there are lots of people to talk to on here. We are all in this together. We have one goal in mind. Loosing the weight. Take care and have a great evening.

Hey Jen,
I have gone through my clothes and put them in different piles by size. I told my husband that I am not buying any clothes until I hit a size 8. That's the size I want to be and I don't want to waste my money until I can get there. My sister-in-law gave me a Muscle Milk shake that's not too bad and you can get them at Costco. It has 20 grams of protein and like 165 calories. So I need to stock up. I have to travel to Denver, CO for my surgery but its only a day surgery and shouldn't be too bad not being at home. (at least I'm hoping)
Have a great day and keep thinking happy thoughts!

Topic: RE: who also have surgery scheduled in November?
My date is Nov 10! I'm excited, but scared at the same time. The baggy skin and hair loss issues are my biggest worries. Keep wondering if my DH will be grossed out after I've lost the weight. :(

Hi, everyone. I've been lurking for a while, but have decided that I really need support right now. I'm scheduled for RNY on Nov. 10, but my surgeon has had me on a liquid diet for several months. I haven't been really good at it, the weekends are a bear, and I've cheated quite a bit, but now I'm really trying to lose the last 20 lbs before my date. He wanted me to lose a good bit on my own, and so far I've lost around 45 lbs. I'm on OptiFast 800, and it's going ok right now. Not even tempted to cheat because he's threatened to reschedule my surgery if I don't lose all the weight he wants me to. Anyone else on a liquid diet before WLS?
