My surgery is Nov 18th! Keep me posted and I'll do the same good luck!
yep, this wait and weight is killing me. I started all of this back in March. I had to do the 6 month weight loss trial. Once all test were done and everything was approved, I got my surgery date. It was 7 weeks out. I said arrrrgggghhhhhh.......
Now I have, what about 11 days to go and I am getting so anxious it's nerve racking.
Good Luck!
As I'm sure you've discovered from this web-site....practices among physicians vary a lot! My journey so far has gone like this: Mid-July I made contact with the surgeon's office. Mid-Sept. I had my consult with the surgeon's PA. Last week saw my primary care doc for lab tests requested by the surgeon. Nov 5th I have pre-op appts. with the surgeon, nutritionist and anesthesia folks. Nov 21st I have surgery. I'm self-paying, so didn't have to wait for my insurance company to refer me to a surgeon or approve surgery....otherwise, this would've taken longer!
This is your health, your surgery...so be sure you're comfortable with your health care providers! The coordinator is there to help you through the process! Don't be afraid to ask for what you need!
Good Luck!

It's about time someone said something about "skinny sex"! My weight has had a major impact on my marriage. In fact, my husband and I nearly split up over it a few years ago. Our relationship is solid again, minus sex. He's totally turned off by obesity....interestingly, this was a major issue in his first marriage too. His interest has been affected by his meds, and my weight leaves him uninterested in doing anything about it. We've reached a peaceful agreement about it...but, wow, I never thought I'd be dealing with this sort of dynamic in a relationship! It's taken me a long time to let go of my resentment, anger and hurt. Now I look forward to skinny sex! SG
