Well this is the day before my surgery weigh in at 242.5 lbs
This is me about a week before my 6 month surgiversary weighing in at 178.4lbs
My nutritionist says I'm a slow loser compared to most however I feel that as a blessing because my body wont go into the starvation mode as quickly as others (I think anyways)
Topic: congratulations everyone
I just wanted to say congrats to all of you. I have read a hundred pounds lost for a lot of you. That is fantastic for six months. For those who have lost less you are still doing great. We have all improved our lives and have great futures. The journey is just beginning but we have made major steps toward our new lives free from the chains of bondage we had before. Keep up the good work and enjoy this new life.
Topic: RE: How is your hair?
I had very thin hair to start, and now it's even worse. I was losing hand fulls as well. When I do get new hair it is coming in grey. I have never had grey hair before. I started taking omega 3,6,9 and it really seems to be making a difference. My hair is thickening up and am losing less. It is worth a try.

Everyone is doing great. I have to admit that I am jealous about all of you losing so much weight!! I am down 62 lbs since surgery. I hoped to be at the 70 lbs mark at 6 months, but that is Monday the 17th and that is not possible. I am close enough so I am not that upset. I am 162 lbs and was 159 lbs when I got married so I am excited to hit that goal. I do notice that my body is so different now then it was then. I will definately need a tummy tuck.
I am 162 lbs, but I fit into a size 8 shirt and a 10 pant. This really blows my mind. I actually went to a high end boutique shop and tried on clothes. You know.... one of those places that stocks nothing over a 10... It was so surreal. I was so afraid to ask if they carried my size!! I didn't buy anything because t-sirts were $184 dollars, but it was just exciting to walk in and fit into something. I still can't fathom the changes can you?

Topic: RE: Has Your Weight Loss Slowed?
My weight loss has definitely slowed in the past couple of months. It has become obvious that the number on the scale goes down as long as I'm exercising. I caught a cold on the weekend, so having gotten my walks in and my weight hasn't budged this week. Yes, I've experienced several stalls....but just kept at my nutrition and exercise; even during some of the stalls I knew my body was changing as clothes got looser! SG
Topic: RE: How is your hair?
I started losing hair at about 2 1/2 months out and it stopped at about 4 1/2 months. My 3 month labs were good, so the surgeon said to just ride it out. I'm grateful to have thick enough hair that I'm probably the only one who noticed! SG

Hello All,
Well I hit my 6th month on the 11th and I'm a 118.6 pounds down and still losing. I have 63.4 pounds to go to hit goal and I can't wait and very excited to continue my journey. It seems as if these months have gone by so quick.

It's great to hear how everyone is doing! I've had some great "wow moments" recently. I ran into a colleague who I hadn't seen for awhile, and it became clear in the first few minutes of our conversation that she had no idea who she was talking to...then she spotted my photo id and realized it was me! The other "moment" was last week when I was rumaging through the closet with my saved "skinny clothes" and came across a size 12 dress and thought what the heck.....it fit, loosely!
I see the surgeon for my 6 mo. check on the 21st; hope to be at 80# lost at that time; at 78# now, so should make it!
Congratulations Everyone!
