Thank you for sharing. My BMI is 61 and my hubby has wiped my booty beofre! He has no problem doing it! Are you finding it easy to sleep in a bed? Someone told me I will wish I had a recliner and we are thinking about buying one.

Hi Everyone,
Just checking in to say that my RNY surgery on 11/6 went well. The first day and 1/2 were tough,but today I am doing quite well. I actually pretty surprised at how normal I feel. Well I just got home so I am going to run for now. Thanks for all of your thoughts and prayers.

LMBO!! Well I have read WLS for dummies, and countless things in the forums but I honestly wasn't prepared for my bathroom ventures.
Warning TMI....
I have now been assured that the following is totally normal but I didn't know it was coming. Last night I woke up to use the rest room and I have been very gassy for days now but it isn't like disgusting gas. But I ended up with a good case of diarrhea. My stomach was churning from the gas but not like achy but it was unpleasant. I for one am on the bigger side of WLS patients with a starting bmi of 57 so with all the abdominal pain I am in my hubby had to wipe my behind. I know it is super gross I don't think I could have done the same for him. lol But for me the diarrhea has come on suddenly each time. I called my doctor because my main incision is hurting so bad today which was normal but I mentioned the bathroom business and he said very normal .... liquid in and liquid out. Maybe I am naive but I really didn't think I would ever have that issue I thought it would be the opposite. But there you go. The nitty gritty of it all. I hope I didn't offend anyone.

I started my pre=op diet on Oct 30. My surgery is on he 19th. The first 3-4 days were CRAP!!! After that, it's all gravy. LOL I'm not saying I don't have my moments, but It's not as bad as I thought it would be.
However, I am allowed 1 salad with some grilled chicken for one meal. That helps. :)

I had mine Tues & Weds, too. I'm SO excited. Main thing is looking forward to having more energy, to get up and do the things I haven't been able to do for a long time d/t being so obese.

That was really fun reading your story compared to mine. lol Mine was fairly different though. ITA about the IV being the worst part. I am having issues post op with pain but nothing that isn't bearable but for sure the IV stunk!
One thing that was odd was the guy insisted on putting it on my left side when I know my right side is my good side and he took several punches which has never ever happened to me.
It sounds like you have a fantastic, supportive wife though. I wish my husband was more like your wife. LOL No he had to cart our son around to school so he wasn't around much but it would have been nice to have him at my bedside. He has done his part for me in the bathroom catagory and I won't go there it sucked for him. LOL
