I had mine done lap.  To say the IV is the hardest part is both a joke and serious.  I am a hard person to stick.  Once the IV is in you, all you have to do is be wheeled to the OR, moved onto the OR table, then fall to sleep.  My wife had an open surgery done.  Your recovery time will be much longer and your pain worse, I'm sorry to say.

I wish I still had my recliner. I have a big chair with an ottoman that I've been sleeping in. It hurts for me to get out of bed ... it feels like my stitches are going to rip right out of my chest (I had open rny).

I saw the picture of your son. What is his name? My daughter's name is Rosie. She is blue and gold. I am glad your surgery is the same day. We have lots of people on here the same date. We can all go through this together. Just 7 more days!!!!!Take care.

Well daisy would not be my preference for my son, but he wants her to be part of the family, Soooooo what can I do....I wonder if she can cook since my son is convinced he will be living on burger king after my surgery ( he is used to me cooking dinner everyday and after Nov 20th, he is on his own)

So Congrats on your new life!  Anyway, I have not had the surgery yet, but I have heard from A LOT of people that they have diarrhea for a while.  Think about it, you are taking nothing but liquids in, how would a solid come out?  Liquid in, liquid out.  Of course you are nervous!  Any major surgery causes changes and we all want to live (isn't that why we go through this?) so any thing that seems abnormal we want told we are okay.  Jus****ch for fever, increased pain (real pain) and signs of infections at your incision sites.  Get plenty of rest and start taking/drinking protein asap, it helps to promote healing.  Good luck.

I use to work advertising and ads are made to make you want to go buy buy buy.  They pound you with the same ad 3 times in an hour and our brains thinks we need this, true for car dealers too and cruise co.  I found out to mute the button and don'****ch  tv ads on buying cars , food , cruises. It has helped  me dramatically.

Fish oil is good for temper issues, I know sounds unbelievable but it is true and spring valley brand is excellent. doesn't break your budget, along with super B complex. try couple weeks see if it helps.  If u have to crush your meds then mix in protein enriched sugar free pudding.
