Topic: RE: Surgery Date 11/17/08 -What should I take to the hospital?
i brought my MP3 player, magazines and a book and didn't touch any of them.  i was lucky to have company most of the time, but didn't have enough interest in even holding up a magazine, nevermind the concentration to read.  i just used the TV and talked to the parade of people coming to check my vitals.

I did bring deodorant, toothbrush/paste, robe and slippers.  didn't really use the slippers, but the rest i used.

Best thing i brought.... neck pillow!
2nd best.... a small table fan - it kept me cool in a warm room - on a rubber mattress!  Also drowned out a little of the hallway noise.

Congrats to you!  The good news is that the first few days are a breeze because you will be doped up and snoozy .

Best of luck and have a speedy recovery!

well, first congradulations for taking the first step to helping yourself..... I am 3 months out an I haven't got a fill..... So you are great with some in your band. I have lost 33 pounds since aug. 1 and no fill... so as long as you are loosing weight don't be frantic...it is a good thing.
you need to eat at least 1200 calories a day and eat 3 lean cusine size meals and 2 snacks a day plus 64 ozs. of water. the size of a lean cuisine meal is what you need to eat about every 3-4 hours. It is ok if you can't get it all down. I can't still with no fill. We don't know how much is in my band from surgery date, but what ever is in their it is working... stick to what I said and you will do great! the main thing is 70 grams of protein a day then the vegs....hope that helps....Sara

Just curious what the average timeframe is for people in NH when you meet the surgeon for the first time to actually having the surgery done?  Thanks!

Hi There "Loser" Friends :  Before long we'll be amongst those other "Losers".  I am having LAP RNY on Wednesday the 19th.  Good luck to you with your sipping and walking.  I know that has been said over and over so I intend to take others' advice and do just that.

"One Sippy Sippy"  "Two Sippy Sippy" "Three Sippy Sippy"   LOL   Might as well make a game out of it, eh?

my surgery date is Nov. 22 with Dr. Aceves.  It is very close and it is good to read that everyone is counting down this last week and excited and nervous.

My birthday is Nov. 21 and my present arrives on Nov. 22.
Yeah!!!
