I got lucky. My appt was scheduled for 2 weeks after my approval. Someone actually canceled the day before I called and I got that date. :) Good luck to you. I know it seems a long time away, but hopefully it will go fast for you.

WOOOHOOOO phase 4 soft foods. LOL I'm so hungry for some hamburger meat. :) I had my 2 wk checkup today and everything looks great. The dr is very happy with my progress. he started me on vitamins today as well. I'm healing nicely. How is everyone else doing? I know there was a bunch of us monday, tuesday, and wednesday.

yeah they are very backed up, I chose a very busy office...she said they are booking March right now....but they didn't give me a date yet.....It sucks but at the same time at least I was approved right??!!!

congrats on your success so far. sounds like you are doing great. I only have to do a week of liquids before surgery next Monday and all day I keep thinking about food. I keep thinking wow it is going to be weeks before I can chew something! I am only on day 2, oh boy this is gonna be tough. But I want it bad enough so I will do it.

Just wanted to let you all know that I have spoken to Blessed32/Mary's SIL and she is doing well. Surgery went perfect, she is still a little bit sedated but feeling okay. I will update you all as I hear more. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers!

Once I got my approval letter, I called the surgeon's surgery coordinator and let her know. I got a copy of the letter to her and she called me back in a day or so with a couple of dates for me to choose from.
I guess it depends on how backed up the doctor is. Good luck to you!

I got my approval letter in the mail last week...had another appointment with the NP today and she said I probably wouldn't have to surgery until around March. For all of you that have had the surgery- did you receive anything in the mail that told you what date you would have it or how did you find out? Im curious because my letter said December 30th, which is what I assumed was my date but apparently it's just a false date that they had to give the insurance company to approve me.
This has been a long process for me, I have been seeing this doctor since July and started the process in April...so now to think it may be March/April before the surgery is a little upsetting...how ever at least I am approved!
So I am curious to know what happens after the approval letter in terms of getting a date for the actual surgery...
