I agree with PP, I know I overate at times and I had my comfort foods, but the whole point is to understand what the surgery will be doing to help you and over come that. I'm so sorry hon. I hope you can get a second opinion and they clear you. Good luck.

I have a hard time believing that anyone can be morbidly obese and not be at least somewhat of a binge eater. Isn't that what our reduced stomach size is supposed to help us with?

I'm so sorry that happened to you. Please keep trying, and I know you'll get approved someday - hopefully soon.

I didn't pass psych.

Everything was going great until the end when she asked me if I was a binge eater.  I said no.  So she said "When was the last time you ate more then you should have".  So I said--last week. She wanted to know the ciru****tances.  I told her I made a sandwich (one chicken salad sandwich) and I decided I'd have another even though I wasn't hungry.

That is it 2 sandwiches.  She said that could qualify as a binge.  Really????? I am 310 pounds. DH is 240 and can eat 2 sandwiches and he doesn't have a weight problem.

She was really  reaching I thought.  She suggested I go to a therapist and Maine med would follow up in 4 weeks.

I was SO UPSET that I told her I didn't want her to send my records to MM and that I wanted a 2nd opinion.  She said no, she was sending them.  So I told her she could not without my consent...and she said "fine, then I'll just tell MM that you don't want me to release your session with me and they will know what that means".

Needless to say I left crying. Ending up giving her release and am now waiting to see a psych.  Not sure what good that will do me.

My eval was certainly not like the other ones I have been reading about :(

Hopefully Thursday!  That's when I have my first post-op appointment.  I am doing ok, just having trouble getting down a routine.  I have been dehydrated a couple of times, which really makes you feel crappy!  But I am trudging along and I find that if I force myself to eat and drink even when I don't feel like it, I eventually start to feel better.  I think once I can eat real food it will be better!  Bring on the cottage cheese!!!  Thanks for asking Kelly!  Take Care!

I am glad to hear you are feeling better now.  I hope that your pain subsides soon.  I have been very unfortunate and had some remaining pain where my main incision was.  The doctor said it isn't common but may******ve got nicked so that is my story now because it hurts.  lol

Good luck!!

Soft foods!!! Already!  I am so jealous.  I am on purees but my doc said I can start trying soft foods before too long.  Good luck with trying new things.

Topic: My 2 week post op visit!!
So today I finally had my first post op visit today.  I have lost 30 lbs since my last weight in a few days before surgery!  I am super happy with that.

The doctor said of course that I am doing great.  He is the best doctor though he has a great sense of humor and laughs at my jokes so I love that! lol I did talk to him about my one incision still bugging me and he said that a nerve may have gotten nicked because I am experiencing more pain that typical.  Unfortunately though it was feeling much better till yesterday I managed to strain the muscle again on accident.  It isn't horrific pain but it is hindering me from doing anything too physical.

I am also finally cleared to go on to purees, which I am happy about but I have to admit purees sound so gross.  He said if I am doing really well that I can get started on soft foods by the end of the week.  I can not wait for soft foods!!

I think that the two weeks of liquids was so hard!!
