Topic: SO THANKFUL to have found this forum
I am so glad I have seen the main forum and even made a post or two. But to find on with friends that are going through the beginning as I am has been a huge relief! I go through moments of being scared almost right out of the surgery. I am not scared of making changes however I am scared of complications/death! I know that I have worked for over a year to get to this point--I am guessing that these pre-sugery jitters are normal! Oh and by the way this liquid protein pre op diet STINKS!!! LOL All worth it though!

That's just stupid!  I didn't make it up past 300lbs by just eating wrong choices. Hell no, I was a binge eater. That's why this surgery is so good for me. Can't binge now. Stomach only holds so much and surgar is no longer my friend.

I didn't have a psych.  I mean, I did so much research that the doctor was fully aware I knew the risks. I told him what they were.
I'm now 9 days out.

Thanks peeps!

So far I have to admit the purees are not as bad as I expected.  I don't think I will wait too long before I start trying some soft foods too.

The psych exam is to determine if you are capable or making the decison to have surgery (i.e. not mentally incompetent, depressed ect.), to determine if you are mentally capable to follow the diet after surgery, to determine that you are capable to understand that surgery is not reversible and that you will be different for your life, also to determine that you are capable in understanding that you will need help after surgery and have the means to get help and to be able to cope with the changes that you will go through.  NO where does it ask the psych to determine if you are a binge eater.  I would talk to your surgeon and explain what happened. Is this someone who they refer all their patients too?  Maybe she was having a bad day?  Just call and tell them exactly what happened and you reacted to her being so unfair badly because you were scared of not having this surgery bc you ate 2 sandwhiches!  How stupid is that????You will be okay.  Just stick to whatever else your surgeon is telling you to do and go from their.  If it is a negative report, you can always ask for a second opinion!  It is NOT the end of your journey!

My vitamins are chewable. I got the flintstones complete (I know, a big nono to some on the board here, but that's what my nutritionist recommended). I haven't taken them yet. I figured I'd wait until today since yesterday was half way over. I had some hamburger meat last night and I did fine with it so I'm really happy. LOL

Glad to hear you two are doing well also.

That is great. I thought purees were going to be bad, but I was just happy to have something with consistency. LOL
