How funny! I was in the row right in front of you all the way to the Left before the middle isle. LOL. WHAT A SMALL WORLD! And my appointment was for 3:15, so I probably Just missed you! lol The girl that was sitting to my right last Thursday (pre-op) was walking out of her appointment on Monday as I was waiting to be seen. Such a small world.  I remember seeing you, your husband, and your son.

I'm in Lafayette. I still have the list of names, phone numbers and I think I saw you on it so I might give you a call soon. Or you can give me a call soon! I'm the only April on there I think!

Hope you are having a great week. Today I went and walked 30 mins this morning and 30 mins this afternoon. I'm finally gettin' in the groove with my committment to exercise. I know the weight will come off faster this way. Ok, talk to ya soon!

Im down 68 lbs since surgery (11/18/08)...energy is WAAAAAYYYY up and using it at the gym 4 times a week.  I went from a TIGHT 30/32 to a 18/20 or a 20/22, depends on the maker.  Im still battling with the head hunger and the voices trying to convince me that I want sweets and things that are bad for me.  But I'd rather be skinny so I ignore them and tell them to shut up. Im working hard to get to my goal of losing 100 pounds by my 6 month mark...I hope I can do it, if not thats ok too.

I've lost about 70lbs since I started the process.  I've gone from a tight 22 bottoms/1x tops to a 14bottom/lg top.  It feels good to have gone down so many sizes.  I want to be under 200lbs for my 6month checkup so I'm about 16lbs away!  I feel like I'm one of those slow losers no matter what I do so I just take it as it comes.  I'm grateful that I am feeling good and have had no complications.

Hey November Surgeries!

Great thread- I am feeling a lot of energy and definately the healthiest I have felt in a long time. I have lost 101lbs (21lbs on 10 day pre-op diet). I have had a couple very long stalls but I believe I wasn't getting in the protein and water I needed so I upped both significantly.

Everyone is doing so well-Whoo Hoo!!! It is easy to get on here and get discouraged comparing weights on here (I know, this is my new cross addiction along with weighing too often), but what I keep in mind is:

My goal weight may be your surgery starting weight.

We all have different frames, metabolisms, medical issues, etc. that impact how we lose, where we lose, and when we lose.

I know I already feel great and have approx 70lbs to go, I can't imagine what that will feel like (I'll be unstoppable).

The "rules" work. During a month long stall I was convinced I was the one that would be on Newsweek Cover with a headline of "The only person WLS didn't work for..." My husband hid my scale and I continued to follow the "rules" and broke the stall!

Feel proud of what you have accomplished and kep on keepin on...what a ride!    Nancy

I'm with you on that one, Nancy!  I, too, thought I'd be the only one in history not to lose after WLS! I had a 4 week stall one month out, in fact, I had GAINED 12 pounds from day of surgery to my first week dr. visit!  Talk about discouraging.....but it's wonderful to see people shedding pounds. Everyone should be proud of each and every pound that's gone, and congratulations to all of you!

All you need is the plan, the road map, and the courage to press
on to your destination.

The mind is really powerful. I have always considered myself a rational, realistic person...until WLS. That little voice of doubt is really loud when you hit a stall. For so many of us we have tried and failed at so many "fad diets" that it is no wonder that it seizes the opportunity to speak when we need it least. You are doing great! Celebrate how much you have accomplished and don't let that voice, or the scale dictate your success with this journey! Nancy

What an absolutely great message!  I couldn't have said it any better your words are encouraging and well spoken.

It let others as well as myself know that we can do it no matter what the situation is, thanks again!

Thank you! This is quite a journey, isn't it? It is so nice to speak to others that started around the same time. We CAN do this! You are having great success and I know after 4.5 months post up I feel better at 46 than when I was 36. I wish you the best and would love to continue to hear about you success! All the best, Nancy

I am pretty happy with my progress so. I have a had a few stalls also but I believe they were self induced. Too much on the go and not keeping track of what I was or wasn't putting into my body. So... progress to date- 38 lbs pre-op, 19 of it was 2 week liquid diet and 56 lbs post-op with a grand total of 94 lbs. 6 more and I get a century card! Yea!!! I am inbetween sizes right now and it is driving me crazy. My size 18 pants are to big but I am still not comfortable in a 16, just haven't found the right cut I guess. Any input would be greatly appreciated. I don't have a big panni but it definitely changes the way clothing fits.

The good news... I hit ONEDERLAND yesterday, which makes my TOTAL weightloss at 72ish lbs, down 61 from surgery.  I'm thrilled.

I'm so very tired though... so I'm interested to read that you all have this bounding energy.  I will pay closer attention to my protein and water intake, but from what I surmise, I'd doing very well with these, and am consistent with my supplements.  My labwork all looks fine too.  Maybe it's psychological.  change is hard for me and I have ZERO clothes for spring.  time to do some more shopping!  That ALWAYS feels good.  I bought my first pair of size 16 misses pants since high school the other day.  whoohoo
