How much weight have you lost so far

I was struggling with no energy as well. It was so bad I could barely stay awake past 6pm in the evening. I started exercising daily and I have to say, it did help my energy. My energy was so depleted, I had to exercise first thing in the morning in order to be able to get it in. It only took a couple weeks before the energy level got better.
I hope you get energy soon and feel better!

well, I guess I am the slowest looser in the group...38 pounds at this point... But I have to say I am just not going to beat myself up about it... i did loose 4o before the surgery and the fact is that my particular body just does not give weight up easily.

Still I have not been this weight in 20 years and I am grateful for the surgery...I am confident that the weight will come off in it's own time...plus spring is on the way and I will be out and about a lot more which will hepl with activity as well as mood.

This whole thing is however a bit of a puzzling science project and I don't always understand what is going on in my body.... But I am trying to give it a little compassion for once....

On gray days i get depressed about my lack of progress, but try to reframe the whole thing every now and then... I am doing fine...and my body will thank me for it one day...but maybe right now it is in a recalibration mode that takes time...

Its all good enough...and congratulations to each and every one of us!!!!!

It sounds as if you are doing super! I am 4 months post surgery and have lost 77 lbs. I too have occassional days where I feel hungry. I think it must be our bodies or brains not understanding why we eat so little or something.  I had a day like that last week.
How much are you exercising? I have recently started fast walking a mile a day...boy am I sore!! I also workout using my Wii Fit.
Take care!

I think everyone is doing fantastic. I am down 62lbs since my RNY on 11/21/08. I was 250 the day of surgery, and today I am 188. I am also a slow loser, but my surgeon put it in perspective.

He said I was 100lbs overweight to start, so losing 60lbs in 4 months is losing 60% of my excess weight. He told me they expect someone to lose 50-60% of their excess weight in the first 6 months and then the rest between 6-18 months..

So when I looked at it like that, then I knew I was doing very well, and so is everyone else on this board. It seems to me everyone is right were they should be.

I do have a lot more energy, but I did go through a period of extreme fatigue. I could hardly walk. My legs felt like lead all the time. I also began exercising more, and it went away.

I have also had times where I am head hungry, and could really begin grazing. I was quick to identify that it was related to my lovely monthly visitor. Mother Nature just does not care that I have a little bitty pouch that does not hold much, she wants sweet and salty snacks. Luckily I have learned how to calm that craving. So a little beef jerky(protein packed) to calm the sodium craving, and for the sweet....mmmmmm....a Grande Carmel Skinny Latte from Starbucks. No sugar, no fat, 130 calories and 9 grams of protein, for 50 cents they will throw in an extra 21 grams of protein....It is really good.

Anyway, congrats to ALL OF US.....we are doing wonderful!!!!!!

Maria - I think the Starbucks protein powder scoop is only 6 extra protein. :-(

You November surgeries are doing fabulous.  I like to lurk on your board even though I had my RNY on December.  Keep up the great work.

I had surgery on 11/11/2008 and I feel l great! I still have a problem with getting the protein in however, I'm working hard to get it all in. I have gone from a 30/32 to a 18/20 and I'm loving the transformation. I have lost 95.6 pounds and I have 86 more to go, I work out five time a week and I know that I'm a little to hard on myself but I say it's for the best.

WOW! Everyone is doing so good!! I am down 88 lbs which is super excting for me...I am 9 lbs away from being a lesser weight than my mother...kinda bums her out but it has been YEARS since I have been smaller than anyone in my family...I just realized yesterday that my goal weight is the same weight as my sister and I think she looks GREAT so hopefully I will look as hot as she does when I get there....I am down from 26 to a 14!
