Exercising

I am 2 weeks out and feel that I should start exercising. How long did everyone start out and what speed? I have a treadmill and I walked for 10 min last night and was give out. I walked at a speed of 3.0. Which was pretty fast for me. I have NEVER been and exercise person but now trying to start out RIGHT!

I also have a wii fit but to me it takes to long? What does everyone else recommend?

I am out 2 weeks and down 17lbs!!!!

WTG on the weight loss!!  For the exercising I took it slow.  I felt like I should have been exercising as soon as possible too.  My surgeon never commented on having to wait or anything so I just started slow and never pushed myself.  My preferred way of exercise right now is to listen to my ipod and dance.  LOL  For me just having fun dancing and singing to my favorite songs is much easier than a treadmill right now.  I wouldn't put too much pressure on yourself though just do what you can and it will get better and more often.

Today was my first visit after surgery and I was cleared for light activity. I was told walking was ok but nothing too strenuous. I have a treadmill and was planning to dust it off.  Good for you starting  up quickly.  I myself have been shopping the gyms to find one with the right fit.

I started the treadmil 4 days postop.....at 1 mile an hour :)  After 15 minutes I'd be exhausted!  I've still not worked up to past 2.5 miles an hour but my surgeon wanted me walking as much as possible, so that's helping do that.

My energy level is still so low, and that's frustrating!  Walking that slow on a treadmil kicks my butt!  I'm looking forward to getting over this tiredness hurdle.
