Hello everyone.  I had lap RNY on Nov 17 then had to go back in to surgery on the 18th due to internal bleeding.  I finally was able to come home on the 28th.  I'm so happy to be home cause I really missed my boys.  Right now I'm trying to stick to 30cc of water or IsoPure every 30 min.  Its been working ok but I'm still so thirsty.  Any suggestions or tips???  I'm feeling ok, kind dizzy this morning.  I'm just trying to get into my normal swing.  I'm so glad I found you all cause I'm sure you will all be a great support system.  thanks

Is this the amount of water/isopure that the doctor recommended? you will be different because of your reop so I hate to advise too much. I sipped constantly and got in quite a bit more than that in an hour. If you are dizzy and thirsty you are dehydrated. If you are not able to get more in that that, please call your doctor in the morning. Dehydration will  make you feel terrible and it will be difficult to catch up because of our small pouches.
Let me know how you feel, I am concerned for you.

My biggest advice is to not push yourself to get back into everyday life.  I think that was a big mistake I made by trying to accomplish too much before I was ready and it hindered my healing.
At first I felt like I was so thirsty I couldn't drink enough and sipping was difficult.  The best thing is to take it slow and work on it all day.

Good luck!

I mad my isopure into popsicles!!!  This has helped with drinking and getting my protein in.

I was thinking about doing that too.  Think I might try that.

Try ice chips. They last in your mouth longer then a sip of water and might help with your thirst.
