first bybass holiday!
I survived Thanksgiving! I know everyone else here is either experience a post-op holiday or a liquid diet holiday, and i congratulate everyone for doing their best! I avoided all the goodies and diet coke. I'm still on a puree diet, but i took some risks with chewing a green bean to death (i just can't handle puree green bean). Turkey is one of my favorites so it was great to have that - and i later had some leftover turkey soaked in fat free gravy and just chewed really well. YUM my 'dinner' turkey was blended.
I've lost about 20 lbs since surgery, and dressed to show it off. my 95 year old grandmother (who didn't know about surgery) said i looked great and to keep up the good work. I was just excited to wear an XL shirt from Old Navy.
how did everyone else do?

I am nearly two weeks post-op and on day two of my puree/soft foods diet. My pureed lunch/dinner consisted of a tablespoon of turkey breast, about two teaspoons of dressing and two teaspoons of cabbage. For a late snack, I had two teaspoons of mashed potatoes, turkey, dressing and cabbage and some ff/sf ice cream. Although the food looked quite disgusting, to my surprise it was very tasty. Anything is better than broth and protein drinks. My only downfall was my water consumption. My full and satisfied pouch did not want much water today.

I got bold and had a teaspoon or so of deli sliced turkey..It went down fine and tasted wonderful. I am ack on liquids today but boy was that nice...I just sucked every bit of flavor out of it until it was no more...yum.
Getting sick of sweet milk shake things for sure...but I will hang in for another week with them...
My hubby and Mom had deli turkey sandwiches and the stuff I don't like... but I craved a bite of something with salt and gave in to the turkey later in the evening. And I know God will forgive me for one fully enjoyed TEASPOONFUL...
20 pounds in essentially 2 weeks....YOU GO Girl... woo hoo...I am on the same course and amazed...
Hey come down to the cape this summer and we can go swimming!!! ( I won't look at your mud flaps if you won't look at mine ...!

My Thanksgiving dinner was about 1 tsp each of dressing, green beans, jello salad, sweet potato and 1/2 deviled egg. Lucky for me my doctor sent me home on pureed food and i have pushed it a little and chewed some soft solid food to death. Haven't tried solid meat yet so no turkey.
20 pounds! Wow.....maybe because of the more liberal eating I have only lost 5 pounds since surgery. Or maybe because I lost 15 in the two weeks prior on his liquid protein diet.
Still happy with my RNY!
COngratulations to everyone for making it thru thanksgiving. we will be able to eat better at Christmas.

Hello there - this is actually my first post. My lap band surgery was on the 18th of November. I was able to have 3 oz of chopped turkey for dinner - it was awesome - with about 4 green beans. It took a while to eat - but i enjoyed it after being on liquids for so long! At my first appointment I had lost a total of 18 pounds!
Question - how do you handle eating out? Grabbing a hamburger was so easy - now I always have a bottle of water in my purse and a 3 oz can of chicken or tuna!!

i haven't tried eating out yet. i'm thinking if i did i would go for marinated chicken, veggies and a baked potato - no butter. and chew the hell out of it all.
I'm hoping to avoid eating out before my diet advancement to non-puree. just two more weeks!
Congrats on your 18 lbs! that's amazing!
