2 week post op

I had my two week post op appointment on Thursday and I'm down 12 lbs.  So if you count the 6 pounds I gained post op, thats 18 lb lost in the 2 weeks.  I am so happy with that!!  My bloodwork showed a low protein though, which would definitely be a reason for healing more slowly, and having a lot of swelling/fluid in my abdomen.  I am feeling so much better though now.  I do get really tired still, but I'm trying to build my stamina back up.  I can eat soft foods now and so far have had cottage cheese and scrambled eggs... yummy!!  I do find I can eat a lot less now than when I was eating the blended food.  I went and got my hair cut the other day too... I said leave it long, with layers.... and all of a sudden I see 8 inch strands of hair falling in front of me...lol.  I just said screw it... its only hair, let her do what she wants...this is the beginning of a new me, just go with it!  And it't the best haircut I've ever had!  So I went to Ross and bought a new outfit too... size 16 pants... woohooo... no more 20something sizes!!!!!  So I am feeling pretty good right now!!  Tomorrow I go to my nephews Marine graduation party... with lots of yummy food... but i'll be drinking my protein shake... and not regretting it one bit!!  I have aquaintances that haven't seen me since I started this journey almost 60 lbs ago!  It's going to be a great day!!

Congratulations!!!  Sounds like you are doing an awesome job.  I'm scheduled to have my lap band surgery December 3rd, I'm so excited.  Getting enough protein is so important and it does make a difference in the way we feel.  Even pre-op I can tell when I need more protein.  Keep up the good work!!
